Hand and Footprint Ceremony

at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Hollywood

On September 16, 2005, Johnny Depp joined Hollywood immortals by placing his handprints and footprints in cement in the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. “To say that this is overwhelming is probably the understatement of the millennium,” Johnny told the crowd. “I’m really honored to be here; more than anything, I’m honored and so thankful, so grateful.” He thanked his fans “for sticking around with me on this really long, strange road [. . .]. I really appreciate it.” With a beaming Vanessa Paradis by his side, and surrounded by his family and friends, Johnny then placed his handprints and footprints in a slab of green-tinted cement, and signed his name. Afterwards, despite the noon heat and intense sun, he spent time signing autographs for the large crowd, including many members of the Zone, who had gathered along Hollywood Boulevard to celebrate with him.

The Zone thanks bonnie and AnaMaria for contributing the pictures from the handprint and footprint ceremony. A special thank you to Zone member Arus, who has shared her beautiful personal photo of Johnny standing on the podium awaiting his chance to speak. We are delighted to be able to include such a memorable event in the Zone’s galleries.
