Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Well court was adjourned very early. One witness from the Eastern Columbia Building was a no show. Isaac Baruch was sick earlier, but will be there tomorrow. I don't know what happened with Laura Divenere as I think she was scheduled today.
But one thing, we can no longer claim he didn't call Winona and Vanessa for time. Court adjourned for the day.

Posting only important meat of the article. Rest is recap of witnesses which I feel redundant as of now. Not sure if Barnaby has any power to make this happen
‘I knew Depp and Heard were dodgy’
by Samantha Maiden
16th Jul 2020 2:25 PM
Barnaby Joyce has declared he "always knew they were dodgy" after it was revealed actor Johnny Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard knew all along that it was illegal to bring her two dogs Pistol and Boo into Australia on a private jet.
The former deputy prime minister has renewed calls for the Hollywood actress to be investigated for perjury after explosive claims were aired over the dogs in a defamation case that has also aired allegations that Depp lived a sad life of drug-fuelled depravity and that Heard or one of her friends once defecated in the marital bed as "a joke".
Overnight, the British High Court heard allegations that Ms Heard was fully aware all along that her two tiny Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, should not be smuggled into Australia in 2015.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
They have to adjourn if the witnesses aren't there, and need to properly schedule the ones from the US.
Won't be sad if Laura doesn't have to sit, she seems quite damaged by all of this and all we'll hear is 'Adam Waldman made you do this' etc - really what's the point.
I mean what was the point of Ms Wass asking Starling Jenkins anything - she got nowhere! So NGN isn't disputing that AH threw JD's phone off the balcony or that AH never once mentioned JD horrendous abuse the entire Coachella weekend but did nothing but complain about him being late for the birthday.
So judge knows that yet another decent seeming chap has worked for JD for 27 years.
Interesting what Sherborne said about whether he could ask two questions that Wass hadn't put to him - so he was there at the Keith Richards filming. Oh well, save that story for Virginia.

Any time I mention the issues to friends and family (even worse now the UK trial has started) their eyes glaze overFlowerBySea wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 9:29 amThe confusion continues: Johnny's legal team wants to call it quits early (2:30 London time) / adjourn to tomorrow. I'll be thinking through an issue and want to blurt something out, but have to bite my tongue.
Some thoughts:
Amber is following a pretty standard pattern imo. Persist and escalate. Its a basic political ploy. Keep saying it over and over again and maybe people will start believing it. Then escalate it, moving the discussion to a more extreme position as if the previous lies etc are a given. Drug and Alcohol, so there must be destructive behaviour. Destructive behaviour infers violence. If he commits DV, he is probably also a rapist. Non-sequitur after non-sequitur.
And still not a single shred of evidence from anyone. More often than not, some attack angle designed to show Johnny in a bad light instead just makes him look better.
Just when I thought Amber couldn't go lower, she makes a fool of me again. Now having made at least one false rape allegation, we find out she has appropriated someone else's rape to further her gold-digging hoax. Unbelievable.

I'm thinking Wass knew there was an issue in LA with the other building witness, rushed her examination and Sherborn got caught with time and no witness.AdeleAgain wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 9:57 amThey have to adjourn if the witnesses aren't there, and need to properly schedule the ones from the US.

Laura D is wishy-washy in her statement vs her audio recording. She was a risk
Not sure what happened with #MeToo Katherine Kendall, she disappeared it seems.
The Keith Richards filming: Amber claimed they had a big row and he wouldn't leave. Drunk and heavily drugged with cocaine. They finally got him to leave after 4 hours. In the car he held the dog out of the window and made other comments about the dog/microwave. Apparpently, Stirling was the driver and Sherborn wanted to ask him about the car ride. Also, Johnny said there was nothing wrong with her and they had dinner with Keith that night and presented a photo.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Maybe this clears up Vanessa and Winona:
"Because NGN is no longer challenging Depp’s assertion that he did not hit previous partners, the court was told, neither Winona Ryder nor Vanessa Paradis would need to be called to give evidence."
From the Guardian (which has now printed two quite fair articles in two days.)

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
That's interesting, what made NGN ever think they would get Winona or Vanessa to say he hit them? And again, I'm still confused why they didn't summon Kate. She's most associated with his "wild child" phase.
Yes - this surprised me as well. I find the Judge very fair, patient and balanced so far, he doesn't seem biased at all. I wonder why he didn't agree to questioning Starling Jenkins about the "dog out the window" incident. Has he already made up his mind about it and doesn't need to hear more?
Same here - there are 1-2 people who will tolerate my rambling, but I know they're not really listening. So glad about everyone on here!Inquiring Minds wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 10:02 amFlowerbysea and AdeleAgain:

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Is anyone else weirded out by the fact that all of the newspapers are running the stories we have known about for what - a year? Two years? Like they are new news. It's making me laugh but I am here for it.
No harm done on not having Vanessa and Winona there - their witness statements got loads of coverage (and I maintain - these were more for PR and context than the legal cases).
I am also hooting - I hate to quote the Sun I really do but this is fab. Really. This is all you got today? "DEPPS OF DESPAIR Johnny Depp passed out covered in ice cream in shock pic". The shock! Case closed - that's it - he's guilty. Icecream. How very dare he! He's a danger to our children.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Thank you all for saying this is your support group too! I actually found two colleagues at work who happily let me update them for most of the afternoon - it was a dramatic afternoon to catch up.
They are sensible, fun women in their 20s who had already decided he was innocent because "she's clearly a nut case" who doesn't act like a victim in any sense whatsoever.
The only thing they refused to believe me on is that JD is 57. Completely thought I was lying I had to show them evidence.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
He doesn't look 57 for sure. It's amazing how he aged backwards since they split up (or - putting it in a less positive way - how unwell he looked during the marriage).
The people I talked to in person also told me Amber doesn't seem to be a genuine person, her testimonies don't seem believeable.
I always try to stay as neutral as possible because I find that when you just present hard facts, it wins people over more easily. Just because someone doesn't seem likeable doesn't mean they're lying. A victim could be a terrible person overall and highly uncharismatic, but still be a victim.
Of course we (as in: the Zone support group) don't take what she says at face value, but mocking her speech patterns, lack of memory etc. isn't helping Johnny's case. For example, there's a video (one of Brian's? / Incredibly Average on Youtube) where he said Amber nodded her head but said "no" at the same time as if it was some sort of body language revelation, when she was obviously responding to two questions at once. Or when she sometimes smirks as she retells the alleged abuse - Johnny did the same thing in his recorded statements. It can be a defense mechanism. I do love Brian's videos though, these are just some instances where I felt he went a bit too far.
There's a bunch of other videos on youtube dissecting Amber's body language, facial expressions etc. and I find them to be too biased. I understand we're all emotionally charged, but let the footage speak for itself, no need for snarky comments... It makes it seem to "edited in Johnny's favor", if that makes sense. He doesn't need snarky edits, I find that much more powerful.
Wow, I just went on a tangent - this wasn't in response to any of you here today, but general thoughts I've been having.
I am also weirded out by the media reports, AdeleAgain - but not much surprised. Like I said, people on Twitter were acting shocked and responding like Vanessa/Winona's statements were a mic drop moment, meanwhile we're sitting here just nodding along - it's nice to hear, but of course that's what they had to say! Most people have nothing but nice things to say about him. I wonder if next week the headline will be "Breaking news - Johnny Depp visits children's hospital! Turns out he loves charity!"

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
You are right FlowerBySea we shouldn't mock her, we don't need to - it all speaks for itself.
But on body language I know the bit you mean about smirking - but I do think there is a difference. AH literally smirked and eye rolled at hearing/discussing hitting him. He did the classic embarrassed, self deprecating smile when he spoken about lying to protect her. It doesn't matter, it's facts and evidence that matter.
My colleagues thought the clip which said it all was the Overhaulin', not her swearing etc but where she's all excited and happy and then as soon as he starts speaking and thanking everyone she goes to an instant strop. She's not centre of attention. Sharp reminder he's the superstar. They thought it was incredibly rude and spoiled -doesn't make her an abuser but it does say a lot.
If you want something nice have a look at this clip or others of him going into court. In the real world people love him. I particularly like how much Adam and the female lawyer look so happy at people showing him love. I literally think everyone who works for him is just a little in love with him.

Her entire deposition was terribly disrespectful, trying to distract, buy time, with the cookie munching and the bad "confused little girl" acting. I just really bite my tongue when showing these things to "outsiders" and try to let them come to their own conclusions.
I will try to find the Overhaulin' clip tonight, I've never seen it. To be honest, most of the videos of the two of them have been too cringy for me to watch. I avoided watching this show after I saw a clip of how she freaked out.
Thank you for the video of Johnny arriving today
