Such brilliant news, it feels like forever but finally justice is served. I still feel that Johnny shouldn't have to pay due to Adam's statement but the main thing is it's all over. I see she's still acting the victim but that's to be expected.

Yes indeed. Thank goodness right has prevailed and he has been vindicated. And his statement hit just the right note.In-too-Depp wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 4:06 pmSuch brilliant news, it feels like forever but finally justice is served. Work hard, learn well, and make peace with the fact that you'll never be as cool as Johnny Depp. GQ.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Nice dignified statement from our man, let's hope the job offers come rolling in...frankly Heard should be behind bars, but Johnny is vindicated which is the most important thing.
Also important is that any other men who are victims of DA might now be encouraged to come forward. This is a good day.

Thanks for posting Ingrid, I did put this up in the lawsuit thread and the daily chat. Such fantastic news for Johnny, the supporters and all those who believe in justice. I hope now Johnny can move on and that the media and everyone will just let him live his life as he sees fit.

Yes! Amazing news!! I am so happy and relieved that he can really move on now. Wow!
And she shall never lie about him ever again.
I had my doubts about the defamation, not about his innocence.
Wouldn't it be great when he would donate 7m and never speak a word about it?
Good day for justice, finally.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I’ve been on FaceTime with a friend so just catching up, we watched the verdict together and both let out a scream! I said a prayer for him and I shed a few tears hearing the verdict.
He has walked a long, long road to get to this day, his grace and dignity have struck a chord with people all over the world. He so richly deserves this. I am beyond happy for him, his children, all who know him personally and love him and of course all us fans and friends who have kept him in our hearts.
I really hope this marks a new chapter in his life personally and professionally. The truth always wins in the end.
On a lighter note I can’t help but think of the scene in Pirates 3 where all the pirates celebrate on deck following the Cutler Beckett showdown.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
This statement by AH, although I understand that she was disappointed--to me, borders on defamatory--again.
The First Amendment DOES protect the freedom of speech...when you're telling the truth. It doesn't protect someone telling lie after lie after lie about someone.

Amber Heard's statement
"The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.
I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.
I believe Johnny's attorneys succeeded in getting the jury to overlook the key issue of Freedom of Speech and ignore evidence that was so conclusive that we won in the UK.
I'm sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American -- to speak freely and openly."

She's a sociopath, she will NEVER admit her guilt. Problem is, she will in all likelihood abuse someone else. I'm worried about her daughter.

Johnny Depp ‘feels at peace’ following victory in Amber Heard defamation lawsuit
Article by Mike Bedigan
breakingnews.ie
1st June 2022
Johnny Depp has won his multimillion-dollar US lawsuit against former wife Amber Heard after a jury ruled her 2018 article in the Washington Post was defamatory.
Mr Depp sued the Aquaman star for 50 million (€46 million) over the piece, titled: “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”
The article does not mention Mr Depp by name, yet his lawyers said it falsely implied he physically and sexually abused Ms Heard while they were together.
Following six weeks of evidence and roughly 13 hours of deliberation, jurors returned a verdict in favour of Mr Depp on Wednesday.
The actor had consistently denied the “outrageous, outlandish” claims of abuse and said he had “spoken up for what I have been carrying on my back reluctantly for six years” during his own evidence.
The court previously heard that descriptions of Mr Depp’s drug use and violence were exaggerated by Ms Heard and her legal team.
Johnny Depp was awarded compensatory damages of €10 million (€9.38 million) and a further $5 million (€4.69 million) in punitive damages.
Following the verdict, Mr Depp said in a statement that he was “humbled” that the jury had “given me my life back”.
He said: “From the very beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome.
“Speaking the truth was something that I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me.
“I feel at peace knowing I have finally accomplished that.”
He continued: “I am, and have been, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and the colossal support and kindness from around the world.
“I hope that my quest to have the truth be told will have helped others, men or women, who have found themselves in my situation, and that those supporting them never give up.
“I also hope that the position will now return to innocent until proven guilty, both within the courts and in the media.”
Mr Depp was not present for the verdict, and was reportedly in the north east of England, after performing onstage for three nights in a row with musician Jeff Beck.
Ms Heard, who was present, was sitting between members of her legal team at the front of the court room, looked downcast as the ruling was read out by the judge.
She had her head bowed and appeared to be listening intently to the verdict.
But Ms Heard was awarded 2 million dollars in damages after her counterclaim against Mr Depp over comments made by his lawyer Adam Waldman, who allegedly referred to her abuse claims as a “hoax,” was also found to be defamatory.
Following the verdict, the actress said she was “heartbroken”, but “even even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women”.
“The disappointment I feel today is beyond words,” she said in a statement.

Ms Heard said the verdict “sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated”.
She added that Mr Depp’s attorneys had succeeded in getting jury members to “overlook” freedom of speech.

The case was brought in Virginia rather than in California, where the actors live, because The Washington Post’s online editions are published through servers located in Fairfax County.
Witnesses have included family members, friends, colleagues, employees and other individuals including British supermodel Kate Moss, as well as both Mr Depp and Ms Heard.
During the course of the trial at Fairfax County District Court, legions of fans gathered outside in an attempt to enter the courtroom and observe proceedings.
Many lined up outside the courthouse in anticipation of the verdict and gave huge cheers as the verdicts were read out.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
She's never going to admit that she is an abuser and this time it was a jury that convicted her not a judge who should have recused himself from the case. I'm so glad the case was televised so everyone could watch and nothing could be hidden, the majority of viewers were definitely on Johnny's side despite alot of them not being Johnny fans.Theresa wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 5:15 pmThis statement by AH, although I understand that she was disappointed--to me, borders on defamatory--again.

The jury made the right decision. The only decision!
Now Johnny can move on to the next chapter without this hanging over his head.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
To have this weight lifted from his back is so wonderful. The matter has been put to legal rest -- she has no claim to continue. The thing is, he is such a good man, someone who pushed along for years, still so kind to fans, still so thoughtful, creative and full of joy. In the face of continued recrimination and doubt. Pray this utterly beknighted woman finds someone or something else to occupy her addled brain. Imagine, she could have loved him but chose instead to harrass and hurt him.
Johnny, we love you.
Johnny, we love you.
