Adam reminds me of Saul Goodman (Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad). It seems he has some unorthodox practices but I’ve really only just started following this more closely. So it might just be first impressions. He just seems a little on the smarmy side.
I note a few have thought him a little pit-bull like. His adversaries have said he has a scorched earth approach, but personally I am loving his style. I loved the "in Memorandum" posts and wish they hadn't been deemed bad taste (or worse). He doesn't miss much (if anything) and has pushed through diligently. And I'm not alone in praise. With Waldman, Sherbourne and Laws I think the NGN trial went really well and ended strongly.
With Adam leading the VA case, I am extremely confident, especially given the way he has handled it so far. I think VA will get even dirtier (eg Heard side and the slew of new lies that poured out during testimony) and it will take someone like Adam (indeed his whole team) to push back.
I would like to think Danny Crane rather than Saul

Don't get me wrong - JD needs a pit bull for a lawyer - he is way too nice I believe and he would rather ignore the bad stuff. So right AH is not going to go away from this chastened - she will come out more vicious than ever. They will dig up every possible thing and JD's side cannot sit back on the work they have already done. I just hope it stays focus on JD and his case and we don't start running off with mad conspiracies that simply weary public support. JD has public support right now.
I wonder if Whitney really sold the wedding photos - might it not have been AH and she blamed her sister? Wouldn't shock anyone.
ForeverYoung, I too thought Amber would avoid court.
I remembered her repeatedly avoiding deposition in 2016 so I thought she did not want to lie under oath.
Is she more crazy arrogant 4 years later or might NGN said or done something to encourage attendance?
I don't expect her to attend when Justice Nicol gives his decision. One reason is that I understand that normally there is a few days notice of the decision and so not enough time to travel and quarantine.
Speeches or statements can be made from anywhere.
It is being assumed the decision will not be made until at least September. The UK court breaks for summer break in August, which is probably why he was not extending any time for the closing arguments. Maybe he had to wrap up other cases before the break.

The aftermath of the Johnny Depp libel trial – what happens if he wins or loses?
metro.co.uk
Article by Emma Kelly
29th July 2020
Johnny Depp's libel trial against The Sun’s publisher News Group Newspapers (NGN) ended on Tuesday after 16 days of shocking accusations against the actor and his ex-wife Amber Heard. Yet it may be weeks, or even months, before it is decided whether Depp has won his case. While it may have seemed like Depp, 57, or Heard, 34, were on trial, what with the serious abuse allegations levelled at both over the last three weeks, neither of the stars are the defendants in this case. It is NGN and The Sun’s executive editor that are being sued for libel, and it will come down to what Mr Justice Nicol decides to be true.
Depp sued NGN and The Sun’s executive editor Dan Wootton over an article published on 27 April 2018, reading: ‘Gone Potty: How can JK Rowling be “genuinely happy” casting wife beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?’ The column referred to Rowling backing Depp to remain in the role of Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts sequel, following allegations that he physically abused his ex Heard. Depp denies all allegations of abuse, and in his closing statement, Depp’s lawyer David Sherborne said the star was ’no wife beater’ and accused NGN and Wootton of ‘acting as both judge and jury’, said the article was ‘not researched at all’, and that it was presented in a ‘deliberately and wholly one-sided manner’.
In this trial, the burden is on the defendants (NGN and Wootton) to prove their story was accurate. Heard acted as NGN’s main witness, testifying that Depp was violent towards her on 14 occasions, which they claim proves their description of Depp has a ‘wife-beater’ was accurate. While the trial ended after 16 days of witnesses and cross-examinations, judge Mr Justice Nicol could take weeks or even months to hand down a ruling, with his judgement not expected before September as he must go through the large volume of evidence in painstaking detail. This includes thousand of text messages, video footage, testimonies from Depp’s former employees and security team, Heard’s sister and friends, and written statements from Depp’s exes Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis. What will happen if Johnny Depp wins or loses? British libel law is widely considered to favour claimants, like Depp – but if he wins his case against NGN, he won’t actually be winning that much money. Damages in libel cases brought in England and Wales usually have an upper limit of around £300,000, but damages for distress and vindication in the High Court rarely go above £100,000. If Depp wins, NGN will have to pay his legal costs, and damages could be higher if the actor convinces the court that his career has been harmed by the allegations.
If the actor loses, then he will have to pay both this and The Sun’s legal costs – which will likely be more than the damages he would receive if he won the case. Mr Sherborne, though, said in his closing statement that the case wasn’t about the potential damages, saying: ‘What is important to Mr Depp is clearing his name of these appalling allegations, expanded on as it has been over the last four years, as a result of which he has lost nothing less than everything, he would say. ‘When I say he has lost everything, to him obviously everything is his reputation. This is not about money, this is vindicating him.’ However, it has been suggested by many that even if Depp wins his claim, he’s lost in the grand scheme of things, with the ‘wife-beater’ claims disseminated on a global scale by the trial and the details of his private life and substance abuse splashed in the headlines. Mark Stephens, media lawyer at legal firm Howard Kennedy, told the Hollywood Reporter: ‘It almost beggars belief that anyone rational has taken this case to court. At some level, mud sticks.’

Just an FYI - My twitter account has been suspended. I've had that account since 2013. I only post JD stuff as it is a fan account. I have never engaged in any hate or attackes against other accounts. I tweet truth, court info, articles, photos, memorabilia, etc all available in the public domain.
What it means here is any of my tweets I posted here in order to share photos or images, will no longer exist. Sorry guys

Hi Lbock, yeah I saw that, yours and four others and who knows if they'll suddenly pick on more. Seems there's a campaign to silence Depp supporters on Twitter. Sorry you've been targeted.

Since main stream media refuses to report the truth, Depp supporters have taken on that task. Yet somebody who has the ways and means to encourage censorship has once again flexed their bully muscles.
Sorry Lbock you were targeted. You provide well researched information regarding JD's lawsuit cases. Hang in there. I know this little bump in the road won't stop you! And my guess is that the Depp/Waldman circle are aware of your contribution as well.

I'm so sorry for you, Lbock. It was a dictatorial act. They want to block the truth, but they can't. Because we are deeply united in our hearts and our strength cannot be broken. Please keep it up and I wish everyone a lot of strength.

I am sure that Amber's side will come up with more stuff to try to damage him. However, Amber will not be able to throw random accusations into her testimony. There must be a basis for the testimony. If she tries to throw in accusations just to be nasty Johnny's side can object. The judge will ask what the basis is for that being brought into testimony. Trying to smear him is not a basis for throwing in random accusations. The judge can sustain the objection (he agrees with the side objecting) or overrule he objection (he is agreeing with the side asking the question). The judge can also have testimony stricken from the record. The judge can also admonish Amber if she starts throwing in new random accusations. Also, in U.S courts the attorneys have a different way of dealing with a discrepancy. The attorney will ask the witness a question and then when they get the answer, they will point out the discrepancy in earlier testimony. They will tell the witness that both statements can not be true. Some of them will say "were you lying then or are you lying now"? I expect Adam Waldman to take this kind of aggressive approach to Ms Heard’s ever changing stories.
I hope this makes sense and is not to long and rambling.

Wow, that really stinks, Lbock. I tried to do a search on your new username and nothing came up.

DId it? Usually I just throw the name in Google and are able to get to the twitter account that way. I'm obviously doing something wrong!
I'm also glad that the Fairfax County VA Court won't allow the blurting out of new allegations during testimony, a la the Kate Moss rumor by Heard.
The US case will be a jury trial, though; therefore it's possible for someone to say something out of line and then have the judge strike it from the record and/or penalize the party who said it. The jury would have heard it, though, and been asked to disregard that errant testimony - what jury member can force themselves to forget something? Sneaky way of influencing the jury.
Looking back at Ben Chew's original defamation filing in VA, I see that I missed one of the justifications for filing the case in VA:
Further, Defendant published the fake and defamatory op-ed to promote her new movie which was in Virginia theatres for viewing by Virginia audiences.
