Thanks a bunch for responding, SnoopyDances and Chocolat! Could not login properly at all yesterday so eventually gave up. All seems good now - phew!

Hey Zoners!! Good Day!!

I am having a lot of difficulty getting on the Zone today. Is anyone else having a problem? This is the message that I keep getting:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

User athena_johnny75 already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections [1203]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

Can some administrator help?? Is this caused by all of our Guests??

I've had the same problem for two or three days now, including just right now!
Yesterday I got a slightly different error message once, something about a missing sql table (sorry I didn't take a screenshot although I actually wanted to take one...)

According to Theresa, the Zone is being upgraded to be more secure and is undergoing some more changes. This will be a fairly long process to update all the code and you will see the error message from time to time.

Yes, we're doing a major overhaul of the Zone--so it's going to be weird for a little while.

Today's errors are from an overload of Chinese bots that are crawling our site and overloading the servers. I'm working on trying to ban their IP addresses to get things back under control!

Going back to the topic at the beginning of this thread -- the Zone's forum is now a secure site, so you should stop seeing that "Not Secure" bit on the address line.

The Zone's home page still has some security issues (not that we have any problems...it's just issues with the security certificate). I'll be working on that for a while but I hope to eventually get it as secure as the forums.
