I have a "Johnny Depp" perpetual related search on my YT account and these Depp related things pop up from day to day. Just the other day a podcast called Wino Forever-The Deppening came up and I decided to listen to it.

I DO like it - but be forewarned, it's not the 100% gushing fan-boy/girl fest one might expect from a Depp-Head. So you may get angry occasionally out of reflexive protective fandom. I actually don't mind a contrary opinion at all. They're objective, and will express opinionated push-back on certain things about JD they feel should be called out (late 50's chain-smoking, Marilyn Manson, drug abuse, certain film choices, Hollywood Vampires etc). But they appear to be welcome to questions and comments - as well as people to sit in.

The guy is clearly an encyclopedic lifetime JD superfan, and the woman is more casual. They've done shows on Winona Ryder's 50th birthday, The Viper Room, Howard Stern's interview from 20 years ago, and Tracey Jacobs. There was a 21 Jumpstreet Christmas episode I got half way through and it vanished. Hopefully it comes back.

I'm sorry, and this is just one person's opinion, but I think it is best to AVOID anything of this nature. It just sensationalizes the situation more. It's plain out gossip. Geeze, watch a JD movie if you want to think more about JD.

I watch lots of pro-Johnny you tube channels. There is a lot of good information there, including the actual court documents read in detail. I haven't watched this particular channel but I will probably take a look.

I agree with your “one person’s opinion”, fireflydances. Without reservation.

Court documents and specific legal references to same are just about the only things concerning this case I can stomach reading anymore. Regardless of whether that info is true or not, at the most abhorrent least, I know they are words possibly integral to the jury’s decision-making and eventual outcome of this case.

If anyone is really interested in somewhat sequential pertinent lawsuit-information - and interpretations - rife with stress-inducing media lies, key omissions, strategic punctuation, mercenary appropriation of years of Johnny’s life to get internet recognition, etc., along with every key reference one could hope for, all one need do is go to the 1 through 489 pages of The Lawsuits Thread right here on the inimitable Zone. Read. For yourself. Especially every paragraph of the UK proceedings and every embarrassingly biased word of Nicol’s UK Judgement.

Oh, and (apologies, off-topic, apparently Dior/SAUVAGE related) perhaps take a moment to enjoy fourteen seconds of Johnny playing the intro to Hallelujah … on the piano….!

I totally get that, and I can sift through what I know in my heart and what is nonsense. I sometimes like to see an entertaining alternative viewpoint. I WILL say that the guy on this actually brings extensive Depp knowledge receipts whenever he criticizes something, and likens his Depp superfandom to a sports fan that wants the full potential from his favorite player or team. They even said if they only were a kiss-ass show, it'd be boring.

What I really like in this podcast is that they don't fixate on Scamber 24/7, and talk about his work and history to give themselves Jumpstreet cred (as it were). Too too many of these newer channels vaulted onto the Depp bandwagon AFTER the Johnny vs Scamber scandals hit and know NOTHING about the man, the work, or history.

But I do believe they said they'd read the transcripts verbatim - instead of cherry-picking. I think the guy doesn't a pretty decent JD impression. He fooled the Stern people on a prank in an earlier Deppening show.

I think I'm going to write a push-back question/comment to them about Cry-Baby and John Waters. They don't think it's close to a strong Depp offering, and I love the movie.

This morning I was listening to a phone interview Johnny did with Howard Stern when he was promoting From Hell. I didn't know such a thing existed. Like you, I think I can sift through what they present and meanwhile enjoy a lot of really interesting content.

Thanks, Nebraska! I know, A LOT of Depp-Heads don't know that Howard Stern interview exists. And it's ONE of the most revealing and interesting. Whether you love or hate Howard Stern. Who can be a back-stabbing sell out hypocrite with the best of em.

The Deppening podcast knows Howard Stern's show very well it seems, and makes for a much better analyzation of Johnny's interview than a Stern novice would.

They just released their part 2 of this Tracey Jacobs transcript reading and analyzation. Color me luddite, but I didn't know anything about this crazy estrangement and falling out. I knew JD and Jacobs went their separate ways - but THIS is craaazzzzy s**t.

Supposedly JD owes Jacobs and her agency millions for brokered film deals BEFORE she got fired from JD by text at 2 am. This Tracey Jacobs deposition doesn't get nearly enough play. The guy on this keeps pushing this transcript as too underground - when compared to the Scamber Heard UK trial. I tend to think he's right.

I guess it doesn't portray JD in the greatest light, but it doesn't sway my fandom one bit. Fascinating and salacious stuff for a Hollywood nerd like me. Two sides to every story, and there's the truth, as a wise man once said (or woman).

So I wrote an email to this newish podcast I previously posted about, and they lived up to their claim they'd read some push back. I explain why I enjoyed DARK SHADOWS and CRY-BABY, the guy on there (John, I think) just launches into his gushing long praise for this site over the years - as well as the old JohnnyDeppfan.com (what DID happen to that??)

I'm a sucker for a mention, and I really enjoy this show now. But they are VERY objective about the things they think went sideways in JD's career and life. This is from their Tracey Jacobs series part 3.

Lovely piece where no one says anything bad about Johnny; I felt sad when the one poster mentioned how tired he was and that he had a 'bad finger'...that was not long after he nearly lost it because of the husband beater.
