What is not on his shelves or wall is also interesting.
The statue of the headless horseman is likely a reference to Sleepy Hollow but there is nothing else to identify a Depp house.
I thought in 2016 after the LAPD checked his penthouses to ensure no crime, that there must have been no awards on display to identify him, also no photos or portraits that showed him as movie character.
Sometimes one hears of celebrities who have photos or even statues of themselves on display in their own homes. If the police visited those homes, they could know whose home it was.

True. But who doesn't love it if one other person is interested in what one says, and also responds with telling her/his stories, and gently stare some opinions one can then discuss?fireflydances wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 8:25 pmI really do believe he is a very shy man who cannot comprehend calling down a focus on himself. Not a egotistical bone in the body. It has to have been hard to get to a place where the adulation of others is acceptable, and even good and peace-bringing.
I was thinking more of communication than adulation.

From what I have seen, most of those things are in his office which is in a different location. He could be renting out a home wherever he is right now.RumLover wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 9:16 pmWhat is not on his shelves or wall is also interesting.

Took me awhile to locate the version of La Mer that Johnny has on in the background while he is writing. From the album Djangology, as performed by Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France feat. Stephane Grappelli. Can be located on You Tube for anyone interested.

Re: Johnny Depp Officially on IG and Facebook...and TikTok
This is sort of mini-tidbit, if something smaller is actually possible, about the two songs that Johnny has shared with us on his Instagram account.
The first song is Wave as sung by the Brazilian artist João Gilberto (1931-2019). Johnny probably pulled it off Gilberto’s 1977 album Amoroso. Lyrics and melody are by the very famous and incredibly talented Tom Jobim (1927-1994). In Brazil the song is called Vou Te Contar or I’m Gonna Tell You.
Of course there are English lyrics written for singers such as Frank Sinatra, but I always like going back to the words the lyricist wrote because they carry the original intention, and not something smoothed and bent to fit a different language. Here is a short video of Gilberto singing and below him, a direct translation.
The most recent song Johnny posted is La Mer by the famous French artist Charles Trenet (1913-2001). Once again, the focus is on the sea. But while the first describes falling in love by the sea, the second is about love of the sea itself. Trenet wrote the lyrics as a standalone poem when he was 16 years old and didn’t find the melody until he was 30 years old. Here is Trenet singing. I am not sure of the date of the recording but Trenet’s version of La Mer was released to wide acclaim in 1946.
And then, of course, Django Reinhart's superb instrumental rendition of the song. Note that the album cover references the English version of the song which is called Beyond the Sea, and is much more a song about lovers. Here is a little snippet which may stir the brains of many who remember Bobby Darin singing it:
"Somewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waiting for me
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailin'....
I looked around and found a translation of the original lyrics that worked, aside for a word or two that I played with. Here it is:
The sea, see it dance
playing along the clear gulfs
reflections of silver
changing in the rain
The sea in the summer sky
confuses his white sheep
with angels so pure
The sea, shepherdess
of azure, infinite
See by the tide ponds
the big wet reeds
see the white birds
and the rusty houses
rocked by the sea
Along the clear gulfs
a love song
The sea has cradled
my heart for life
Of course we can’t state with confidence that Johnny deliberately chose these two songs because of their connection to the sea. But we know he has spoken about his love of the sea, and for a number of years he owned the beautiful ocean-going yacht, the Valjolirosa. And, of course, inside him there must be vast store of lore and legend about the sea because of Jack Sparrow.
So, did he consciously pick the sea because he knows that in the heart of his fans, he will always be connected to it? Or did he select these songs because the sea is simply something very close to him?
What do you think?

I noticed in Spain he was wearing his Captain Jack Sparrow scarf around his neck. Maybe he is trying to tell us something?

I think and hope that both views are possibble and I belive he will continue to surprise us.
Thanks again fireflydances for the valuable information, I am verry happy.
