I don't have the slightest idea how to get it here, but there is a wonderful 45 minute press conference recorded at San Sebastian yesterday(?) on Tumblr at Bye Bye Blackbird. It begins in Spanish but the vast majority is in English and the vast majority is ALSO Johnny and Johnny and Johnny talking beautifully about Shane. Literally one of the absolute best opportunities to listen to the man and sit transfixed by his eloquence. They even ask him about Hunter Thompson. It's just a superb present.

I read this by using Google Translator. Can only handle 3900 words at a time. Makes it rather difficult to do, but maybe a blessing in disguise - gives one a chance to take a deep breath before going on. Included is the official video for Fairytale of NewYork - MacGowan is unforgettable, The Pogues - what a fabulous band!

Johnny is mentioned a few times, in particular some very honest bits from Julien Temple.

Regardless of any specific intent or not, AdeleAgain, your comment happens to be particularly applicable to turkeys like the author of the above “review” (see reluctantly included Link above) who persist in tossing inappropriate, invalid, personal character slurs into a so-called “film review.” Such attacks require rebuttal as they are encountered and is the only reason I included the Link.

A thoughtful, negative review is one thing. One that relies on a gut punch in its opening gambit is not worth reading further. This has been going on far too long in Johnny’s case and needs to be taken to task wherever, whenever we can. Thank you!

Johnny is due to appear at the Zurich Film Festival Friday and both showings of Crock of Gold are sold out.

It looks like our IFOD friends are there, too.
