I thought Judge Nichols was supposed to be a fair judge and was praised.

I am sure all judges will make mistakes but this seems absolutely staggering.

Thank you Lbock for the info on appeals - goodness another 18 months or so and that doesn't account for COVID. But interesting that no new evidence gets put in - that's fine - we want the evidence submitted to be properly considered.

I am so glad he has the US proceedings - I had hoped that the Sun case would be over and we would all regret more legal actions but looks like Adam Waldman was wise to do a double strategy.

I cannot bear how smug she must be feeling. I pray that the studios look at the out pouring on social media and see where the movie watching public's support is - will we start seeing demands for him to be dropped from FB3? Once again, hang on to the gift of those tapes - because no one who has heard them believes any of this nonsense.

A lot of people are on his side now. JK Rowling, David Yates and WB have been standing by him since TCOG, that's not changing. He's the main antagonist in the Fantastic Beasts series, the verdict is so blatantly ridiculous. Nothing to worry about there. The evidence is out there.

What we need to know is would a new judge take over somehow? Surely you don't appeal here is Nichols is staying on, he's corrupt.

Well, I am shocked! I feel that Johnny made his case, in my opinion. I also watched videos and read that many lawyers online also feel that Johnny proved his case. This feels So Wrong!
So, Johnny's evidence wasn't good enough, because they were friends and employees? Maybe they lied for him? Weren't AH's witnesses her friends and employees, who would lie for her? Also, the tapes were not taken into evidence? (Please correct me if I am wrong. )
She hit him in the back with a red bull can. That was inconsequential? Why? Because he is a tough man and it probably didn't hurt him much? What if the situation was reversed? It would hurt her and not him? COME ON! I disagree.
I am proud of Johnny for standing up and telling His Truth. Being a DV Survivor, I know how complicated and heart wrenching that is, but he stood up to clear his name and for the many Survivors and men who have been silenced through the years, afraid to not be believed.
I still find AH's testimonials laughable. She was supposedly dragged through broken glass, yet her scars are uniform and parallel to each other. There are so many more examples as we all know. Too many tangled lies and inconsistencies. She has changed her story innumerable times. I just wholeheartedly disagree with this judicial decision. I heard the tapes!!

I had a few minutes of worrying about the impact of this ruling on the US case but - thinking about it - the silly asides in the judgement really should play out rather well in a US court. In particular the comments on Kate James - which I find absolutely despicable.

So no findings of bias/revenge for iO who fell out with JD, but actual evidence by Kate James just brushed aside!

Come on Australia - I really hope this doesn't put a halt to that investigation.

Presume she is going to restart her 'activism' no - I still feel absolutely sure that the public will not warm to her - everyone on social media please keep the tapes in circulation.

I am heartbroken at how disappointed he must feel and wish we knew if he was ok - if he was prepared etc. I wish Adam would say something but I suspect he may want to lay low as he is really part of the story.

This is so awful but keep strong everyone. There will be bigger events going on tomorrow!

We have lockdown now so JD may not be able to give his deposition in the US - I hope he can give it somehow as I cannot bear the spin of AH saying he is really hiding from it.

Agreed - AdeleAgain. The wheels of justice have already started again in the UK matter. We ALL must stay POSITIVE for Team Depp. This is NOT the end of the world. We must keep vigilant. We ALL know the "pooh" that will be coming from Team Heard. So . . . let us prepare for it.

In our diligence we must educate those who do not understand what Heard is and represents. Also reminding Heard herself, that WE ALL KNOW WHAT SHE TRULY IS and we will not let the world forget it.

As long as Team Depp KNOWS we support, trust and believe - they will prevail. Johnny will know just how much he is believed and loved. We must band together, until justice truly prevails.

I really don't understand this decision. I feel bad for Johnny because it is so extremely clear that this woman set out to destroy him. I have to trust that no matter this decision, Johnny will be successful this year and in the future. I will always be stand up for him.

I am shocked and appalled by this verdict. I will never believe Johnny is an abuser. I will live in hope that one day this truly vile woman gets what she deserves. My thanks to all at the Zone who continue to work so hard in sourcing information.

I am just gobsmacked!! :grr:
:perplexed: at this ruling!!
Johnny knows about miscarriage of justice, after all, he was one big name that went to bat for 3 innocent young men who were imprisoned for years for murders they did not commit. (WM3) I am, guessing from that and other factors, that he knew he did not have a guaranteed win and maybe did not even expect one.

This has to do with the LAPD: This is what I recall reading. After the Brown/Simpson case, which the LAPD totally fumbled (Ms. Brown had made pleas to them for her safety and they did nothing to protect her), the LAPD then underwent extensive training to deal with DV cases. They are far better equipped to properly handle investigations involving DV. So, I seriously doubt that the police did not investigate Johnny's case thoroughly.

It is good to see information on here about the judge that suggests he does not have a stellar reputation for fairness. This cannot be ignored!

May Johnny realize just how steadfast we are, not just because he is Johnny, but because we know what we know! Tapes and other recordings don't lie! I hope he appeals. Go, Johnny, go! :airkiss:

Johnny endured one hell of a fight. And I think for that reason, as tough as it is, try as you might - please read the full judgement. You will see how the judge reasoned each incident. Like it or not, he pretty much concluded 12 of the 14 incidents and one "confidential" incident. He denied the Thanksgiving allegations because Wass did not question Johnny, but added he believed he did assault her in private, as he did after alcohol. He denied to rule on Bahamas Xmas 2015 because both sides had to give an amended statement, and forwhatever reason, I'm confused, he didn't like what he got back and felt it inconsequential overall. But I think he would have ruled against Johnny.

He 100% has no doubt Johnny did everything she claimed and he forgives her for any confusion as victims often forget details. She wore makeup to hide her injuries from the public and knowing she'd be pursued by paparazzi.

All his witnesses lied as they have absolutely loyalty to him. Even goes to say he doesn't believe his people would intervene and help her if Johnny was beating on her or harming her in any way.

He discounts the LAPD as they were not there 30-60 minutes only a mere 10-15 minutes. They took no notes. When she refused to give a statement the LAPD realized there was nothing to do and a waste of time. A deposition two months later with no notes was more a "cover their ass" same as today (judges basic opinion).

Read it: It's hard. I don't know how appeals work. They'd have to overturn a hell of a lot of his decisions to over turn the final decision

There's nothing to understand here. It's corruption plain and simple. Between the ties from Nichols and Heard, Nichols' having been shady in other cases (which you can see in this thread), and OUTRIGHT dismissing testimony by two police officers, countless witnesses, evidence and believing Heard's ridiculous lies, and so much more, it's clear that he's in her pocket. Was he paid off? Is there something else at play? Did someone get to him? Is he simply incompetent?

Anyway, Johnny appealed, and it seems to me most people aren't falling for the BS. It's so outrageously wrong that it's going to blow back in The Sun, Nichols' and others' faces.

Oh look at this little nugget there:

It is a disappointing verdict for sure! There are a lot of things I dont understand, like how the judge can discount her own voice on tape and say he believes her conflicting story on the stand because she's was supposed to be truthful under oath. :perplexed: I think he based a lot on the text messages Johnny sent, under the influence or using his unusual sense of humor (or both). I haven't read the full document yet but that was what I understood from glancing over it this morning.
