I am very impressed with E.L. she is very skilled at cross examination. I think it was very wise to have a female cross examine Amber, that way she can't cry that another man is picking on her.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
They have this tag line at the beginning of the page "Why you can trust Sky News" and I always read it as "can't". I take their reporting with a big grain of salt, curiosity takes me to their site... But I only really rely on the official transcripts.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:21 amIf anyone is wondering why Sky News is cherry picking the story...I just learned they are owned by The Sun.
Nick was a great source because I felt like he really just "happened to be there" and was entirely impartial. You could tell he was more on Johnny's side after a while, but he made an effort to be objective and his job wasn't "professional entertainment reporter". He seems like someone who doesn't actually care much about celebrities. But that's all highly subjective on my part.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I thought Murdoch owned Sky news as well but he had to sell his stake - actually I think it was someone on here who pointed that out to me.
Their live tweeting is very summarised but I've found when there are parts of the story you are very familiar with you can see how AH is tripping up.
Even knowing this and seeing some tweets from people there yesterday I was nonetheless so shocked by the transcript when I read it last night.
Josh is on as I type - with an ability to see a bruise that the DV trained police missed.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I'm still not over the story with her Mustang.
This is just wild to me, it's such a minor detail but why would she consistently lie about this? Or did her car stop working ages before Overhaulin' (then how was it Johnny's fault)? I'm also still completely lost as to why the repairs took so long. Sounds more like a payment issue maybe?
Lbock wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 12:11 pmIf Overhaulin is complete in 8 days that's very odd. Not sure when it was recorded, but it aired In Nov 2015. On April 22, 2016 she drove it to Coachella. That's not 3.5 years.FlowerBySea wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:15 amGood question! It sounded like she meant: She had a perfectly working car, sometimes it would need repairs since she's had it for 16 years now. Then Johnny surprised her with Overhaulin', then the car didn't work anymore and she waited 3.5 years for it to be fixed. Then she was stuck with the bill for repairs that she never said she wanted.
It does sound like she's basically saying the Overhaulin' crew broke her engine?
We now seem to have proof it was out of order at maximum 1 year and 5 months, if that was really her car she drove to Coachella with.

I've been giggling about this for a good few hours, thank youAdeleAgain wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 4:21 amI woke up this morning with a light bulb moment. Of course her version of the plane incident cannot be true. He took his boot off and threw it at her. Well that's just crazy - he wasn't allowed to take his own boots off.
Case closed.

One thing you should remember is that Mr Justice Nichol has been a justice for a long time. He has never encountered Amber Heard but that does not mean that he has never had people lie to him or try to confuse him. When he asks for clarification it could be that he recognizes that she is lying and he is trying to make sure that he is hearing her correctly. Please have some faith that this judge is good and that he will make the right decision.
Also Eleanor Laws is a highly skilled Barrister. I Googled Eleanor Laws and found that she wrote a textbook about sexual violence cases. She is also highly regarded by her peers as a skilled Barrister. Johnny is in good hands.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Reading through the witness statement, Amber really doesn't seem very creative... She's just copy/pasting the same actions all over the place (see also the "bed-breaking" incident I quoted today). Examples: hair pulling, pushing her against a fridge, swinging around magnum-sized bottles and tearing the front of her shirt / nightgown. It's almost bizarre at this point how often I read about Johnny pushing her against a variety of fridges.
I counted and she has 3 fridge-related stories in her original witness statement:
He pushed me into the fridge and slapped me.
He grabbed me by the neck and shoved me against the fridge.
He grabbed me by the neck and kept smashing my head against the fridge […]
Also 3 instances of shirt / nightgown tearing.
I saw someone say "She thought the support for her would be 100 times stronger if she increased the accounts of violence by 100", which I agree it seems like that's it... She needed to come up with a number of horrific stories, but they can't each be too specific because then it would be harder to prove and harder to memorize.

I just can’t get over her refusal to admit she’s done anything wrong. She said that Johnny said all those things to her on the island, not her to him. Why would he say to a young actress “you’re washed up” or that she was “fat” it doesn’t even make sense.

This is the full recording of the 'I was hitting you ... you're not punched" tape.

I haven't got through all of it yet but there are some additional pieces which Brian's edit left out - worth going to 21 minutes where she tries controlling him, just no way on this earth you would speak to your abuser like that.
Ms Wass is doing the questioning now to queue whole load of fresh insights! And headlines to match.

The so called 'phone injury' makes me laugh - the only way you'd get a mark like that is if you carefully placed it on your face and pressed down hard for about five minutes.
No way could such a perfect image be caused by an item thrown at you.

Yes, from a 6 foot distance too (which doesn't make any sense, if he had just taken the phone from her, that he would take a few steps back for his baseball player performance). Someone should do a slow motion video of how a phone moves through the air and how it makes impact.
The extended audio is such a pain to get through, between her abandonment issues, projecting and how much she loves to hear herself talk.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I have been reading along. I preferred Nick Wallis' coverage to Sky News!!
I believe that Johnny did beautifully on the stand.
I also think that AH was stumbling over her own lies! She adds 'details' that are just thrown in whenever. Things, that were Never Mentioned in her 7 changing witness statements, are just brought up and bantered about.
The self-inflicted cuts on her arm, all in a row, are the only damage that she sustained, from the harrowing fanciful tale of the 'three day hostage situation' in Australia. You know, when Johnny's finger was crushed and severed?
I think it is time to listen to Brian McPherson's videos again of the 2 audio tapes of AH abusing Johnny. They are telling and I really hope they are listened to, in their entirety. (I know we have covered this, but here goes...)
Here is the link to another guy on YouTube, the Umbrella Guy. He has several videos of AH testimony transcripts where she is crashing and burning on the stand.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Small details make me happy - Adam's tweet about the fridge especially, one because when you tell lies it is the details which trip you up and two because the Depp household uses Amazon just the same as the rest of us. (And some intern in the law firm probably thought - ooh I wonder when the fridge was purchased. And now they can have their moment and take a bow.)

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I'm actually more shocked they bought their fridge via Amazon than the fact that she was caught in another lie.
