Lbock: I believe what you are referring to is TMG' motion to seal documents. Johnny's team wants to file a First Amended Complaint (FAC) which will reveal certain things TMG does not want exposed.

Wow. That was an eye-opening article. I guess time will tell what the future holds for Johnny. I think it's getting clearer that things haven't been good with him, for a while. All the stuff that the Mandel's have been telling about Johnny are probably going to have an affect in Hollywood circles, true or not. Jessica Chastain was recently asked how she memorized her lines, and the reporter mentioned how Johnny Depp had his lines fed to him. She did not hide the fact that she thought that was lazy, non-committed acting...rolling her eyes. She said her job, as an actor, was to come prepared. This woman is a very highly respected actor.
So, true or not (and I'm wondering if there might be some truth to it) she believed it was true. One of the lovely side effects of gossip.
It's more understandable, now, why Johnny has not did his usual promoting of this movie. Things have to be tense. I can only hope that Johnny can straighten out his life. I adore the man, but I am also a bit numb at all these revelations. It's his life, but I hope he can get to a better place.

Just wondering what's making you start to believe anything that's being written? Is it because the same two people keep saying stuff over and over and over and over again? Who else do we know that played their game in the media because they had no case? This insane fear and loathing-esque novella was clearly planted by TMG to try and mess with Pirates opening. Not to mention the fact that they are not even defending themselves against what Johnny has accused them of, they're just straight slandering him at every turn. Remember the facts that his lawyer hasn't laid out, FOUR different firms looked over this material before the suit was filed and they retrieved info from the IRS plus the whistleblower. Johnnys lawyer also mentioned a threat from TMG that they would "destroy" him, I sure hope they have that threat in writing. Don't drink the kool-aid

There is either an incredible coincidence or a hideous well-orchestrated scheme at work here. Every time Johnny has a big movie coming out, there is a vicious attack against him. "They" (not sure of who to include in this group) have really hauled out the big guns to make him look bad. It makes me very angry. In this case, I pray Dead Men Tell No Tales is so strong, so wonderfully entertaining that is runs right over all this negativity about our dearest Johnny. As for me, I'm sending all the positive vibs I can to our pirate. We all should...it will make a difference! May 26th can't come quick enough...I'll be there at the theater with bells and whistles!
Gather yourself by the sea, I will love you there. Assemble yourself with wild things, songs of the sparrow and seafoam. Let mad beauty collect in your eyes - for I long for a man with nests of wild things in his hair. A man who will Kiss the Flame.

I'm not saying I believe everything I read. But...there are things that are undeniable. More than the financial problems, what I found most upsetting was the comments about the filming of the Pirate movie and his possible falling out with Tracey and even his sister. Since Johnny chooses not to speak, as his supporters, we are just trying to grasp the truth about someone we are worried about. To follow blindly, not wanting to ever accept anything that doesn't praise, is what 14-year-followers of boy bands do.
I've always wanted to be open to actual actions and what you see happening. I hope, more than anything, that he's in a good place. It's been obvious, by his appearance in the past couple of years that he wasn't in a good place. It was very hurtful to see him like that. I knew that Bruckheimer was very quiet during this shoot, not like the other times. There were rumors of problems and delays but we hoped it was not true. When someone we care so much about is having problems, acting like they don't exist is not helpful. We have to consider the source, when things are said, but when a long-time close friend of his, from Austin, makes a very angry remark about Johnny on his web page, it makes you wonder.

Thank you, thank you, savvypiratemonky! I'd be rambling all over the place trying to say what you have done so well and so succinctly. I'm soooooo upset right now, but there's absolutely no doubt where I stand and always will - not blindly, but certainly better read on this matter than all these horrid bottom feeders kackling with glee as they cherry pick their way to another lucrative tabloid frenzy. And "well-respected actor" that she is, Ms Chastain should hope she never has to work as hard as Johnny has only to be rewarded by gratuitous reactions such as hers from her peers. Maybe try working her way up to being a classy, "well-respected human being" . . .

You are right, Pearlsgirl - there are no coincidences at work here. Just a full throttle attack - defamation of the most vicious ilk - there seem to be no comparable forces at work from Johnny's end to mitigate the impact. TMG has lost its cash cow and they are frighteningly desperate. Still no sources named yet they get away with stuff like citing "physical fights "(with Heard) during POTC filming thereby resurrecting the abuse specter - no mention of who may have had bruises. I can't even begin to imagine the level of unabating stress he is under - and will continue to be for at least the next eight months. I pray Johnny is somehow finding a way to keep his wits about him. Is there nothing we can do to show our support?

Oh, please don't misunderstand me, I don't at all mean any side of anything should be blindly followed. I was simply saying that projecting the same thing many times does not necessarily make it true. The loudest person in the room is usually the weakest. And TMG is screaming at the top of their lungs.

Absolutely Johnny has not been well the past few years, he was in an abusive relationship with a worthless excuse of a woman and had his life turned upside down. Undoubtedly many many things transpired that he regrets and were not in line with his usual state of being but, as Suzanne Witkin said, "he's no angel but he's not a monster." I'd say he's pretty well back on top form the way he's been looking lately and working his bum off. I would not worry about his career in Hollywood being tarnished. Trust me when I say they are not paying attention to people spouting off to rag mags that he's in a legal battle with. Those who need to know, know the truth, and since he keeps signing on for movies and being in demand, I wouldn't worry too much about his star power.

First I'll say TMG is clearly playing a very well orchestrated smear campaign game. That fluff piece in THR, clearly taking their side, is obviously not the first time they have opened their traps directly to the media and I doubt it will be the last.

Now as for Johnny, I just don't know what some people want from the guy! Whether anything anyone has said is true or NOT (most likely) it is in his past! He is trying to move on, get his life back together, and clearly some house cleaning was needed. I know we stopped talking about it but I can't help but keep saying it, every single thing people continue to harp on this man about were symptoms of emotional abuse. Including substance abuse, withdrawing from people, becoming detached and not taking care of business. Since the big D, he has been taking care of business. Either it was a wake up call or it was the freedom from his nightmare.

Also, if it wasn't for these nasty people flinging poo in order to save their own skin consider what would we know? Hardly nothing. We'd know he got a new agent and new business managers, and sold some stuff that's all. He can't help that his enemies choose the ugly, low down dirty road.

I'm almost certain we all wish (and possibly Johnny included) he could go back and change some things, but he can't, so give the guy a darn break already! This isn't blind worship this is level headed consideration that things aren't all that bad. He's alive, appears healthy, working on new projects with his head completely in the game, and keeping a low profile! What more can we ask for? Except of course beautiful HQ photos of him looking sharp on a red carpet! :heart4:

I hope now that Johnny has some of the monkeys off his back (one whose name we do not speak of) he can move forward in a positive direction. I read that an "insider" said he is looking great and in a good spirits. By the end of 2018 he should have at least seven films out so it doesn't seem like any of this negative BS that TMG is throwing out there is affecting his career.

I did not read this whole article. It was very rambling and ridiculous. I read down to the part where it said that he continued to support Vanessa Paradis after they separated and even bought her a mansion. It is ridiculous that they are bashing him for this. Since they were never married they could not go through a divorce. I thought that was very nice of him to treat the mother of his children with so much respect. I also don't understand people bashing him for helping his family. He never forgot that his mother worked long hard hours as a waitress and when he had money he helped her. Also if he wants to help other family members it makes him a good person not somebody who is out of control. The people who are writing these articles seem to twist facts to make him look bad.

At least he's going to be on Ellen next week, let's hope for a great interview. We haven't seen any photos for a month or so, hoping for a happy, healthy looking Johnny. Very happy that Ellen is showing support.

I don't know what's going on with him and Tracey, but I'm sure everything is fine between him and Christi. When he gave a speech in Arkansas, he read it from a paper which sent from Christi's e-mail. She's still his manager. And I think Johnny knows about his financial problems since the early 2016, but in July 2016, we still saw Johnny and Christi together and they looked really close.
About the rumor of the problems on set, and that Jerry was quiet than other times, I don't think so. Jerry posted a few pics there and really protective of Johnny in this article.
For me, I want to believe the real sources with their names like Jerry, Bailey and Singer than those anonymous sources.
I know he has some problems (I believe that he's always being late), or drinking sometimes. And it's good to acknowledge his problems. But I prefer to not make it a bigger problem than it really is.
