Hi ForeverYoung. I don't know the UK system, but I believe a judge in at least some courts in Australia can order a witness into a cell directly from the witness box if they determine they are lying or not cooperating. Its more of an opportunity to allow them to correct the perjury before it becomes part of the record.

I am aware of at least one perjury case currently being prosecuted. The perjury occurred during a trial and the witness was charged after the verdict was delivered. The perjury is being pursued as a separate case and is brought by the State (AFAIK).

Thanks for the info. :dillingerhello: I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens next.

Lbock or anyone else who may know - is there any update on Deadline's claim the AH's lawyers have filed a response to the March CoA hearing?

The deadline for JD's team to respond to any response is tomorrow so I guess we'll know soon enough.

Don't think I can keep holding my breath!

I emailed the appeals court. All relies etc are private other than actual rulings so I can’t confirm anything.
Thank you for your email

The rules of court in the Civil Procedure Rules 5.4C govern the disclosure to a non-party of documents from the court file.

The Appellant's Notice, grounds of appeal and the parties' written arguments (known as skeleton arguments) are not disclosable to a non-party as of right under this rule.

So interesting that AH along with Aquaman 2 and JusticeForJohnnyDepp are trending - with rumours of her firing getting stronger and stronger. There are also snippets that her lawyers have attempted but been unable to respond to the CoA hearing on 18 March. I do wish Gre3f was still on twitter to at least less us if that article on SausageRoll is correct about procedure if nothing else.

Maybe she has been sacked maybe not - but WB has to be watching the reaction to the rumours - 99.999999% of comments support her sacking.

I don't buy the reason at all if there is any truth in it - health and her not being in shape. They aren't due to start filming for months and she would literally just go to a health spa for a month and get herself into shape. But I remember a while ago a discussion on here about what she might do to get out of the position she has got herself into - and several people said she would claim some sort of health crisis (all JD's fault natch).

WB have got themselves into a real bind. She is so unpopular but because they didn't fire her when they believed JD, and didn't fire her over the tapes because presumably thought it was better to do it after he won his libel trial - and then couldn't fire her when NGN won. But she is more loathed now than ever.

The charity/perjury issues may finally give them their excuse although even if the CoA allows JD to introduce new evidence - I still think it is a long road to get another hearing on all of this. So I wonder if they are allowing the rumours to be raised and judging reaction. Just my speculation. If she is fired her choices are to claim that the stress has damaged her health and so she couldn't film (JD's fault) or say the she told everyone all along - women are never believed - she has been sacked even though she is a victim (JD fault). With the latter she'll retain her small band of ultra-feminists.

If WB are not going to sack her - odd that they haven't said anything yet; and does anyone else find her silence on instagram disconcerting?

Back to the CoA issue - I keep thinking about how it could pan out. The one thing I do know is that UK lawyers protect their professional reputations above anything else. No one on the NGN side is going to want to give the slightest hint that they knew she was lying. Because witnesses in the UK are not allowed to be given pre-trial coaching (unlike in the US) - lawyers get away with an I-didn't-know-defence. But it will be difficult for them to argue against the introduction of evidence of perjury.

Oh I wish one of us had an inside track on all of this!!

Morning AdeleAgain: Agreed. Things that run legally in the UK are so much different in the US. Such a bummer.

Just a positive note for you this morning -

Wishing we had someone on the inside track? - we do. (I do know what you really mean)

The "zoners' & his "fandom" have known all along - AH is the absuer - the vile, manipulative, drunk, backstabbing, narcissist, evil, gaslighting, freeloading, pos, Z list actress. , who lives the the depths of hell.

JD is the victim - a sweet, loving, intelligent, hardworking creative artist and the gentleman of gentlemen, who we truly admire, respect and love and who we stand with 1000%. :heart4:

Just trying to boost your spirits. :flashingheart:

With the UK appeal, even if we knew more about what is happening in the legal process, we would not know what might be happening behind the scenes with NGN pulling strings or pushing their agenda.
Dan Wootton is to leave NGN for the new rival channel GB News. I would like to think that if there is an appeal that NGN no longer support Wootton.

I find it odd that NGN would not have filed its reply papers in the UK matter because this is standard procedure in any kind of litigation. :perplexed3:

RumLover - NGN can't just throw Wootten under the bus without admitting their own liability - he was editor of the Sun, ultimately the Sun/NGN carries the can.

IF (and I am trying not to allow myself to get carried away) it transpires that JD can introduce new evidence, and IF the Sun then chose to settle with JD rather than fight an appeal and/or new case - I suppose they could symbolically blame Wootten - but any financial settlement will come from NGN.

I just have a hard time imagining that NGN are going to throw in the towel now. They may as well oppose JD's emergency appeal - unless as previously discussed it puts NGN lawyers and staffers in potentially serious trouble over enabling perjury. But I just don't see how - the NGN lawyers are far too smart to allow themselves to be put into that position. I am not saying that in their heart of hearts they didn't question her story, but if they did not actually know for certain she was lying - then they are in the clear for past actions.

Ok again in the realms of trying not to get my hopes up - but something REALLY weird has happened.

I just googled AH as someone told me her entire Google News page on is on the firing rumours. Including an article in the Sun. Now I know I shouldn't click on but there was something odd about the headline "AH Plagued by Rumours". Expecting to see the words w*fe b34ter there somewhere - but no. Quite a dull article for them, quoted anti and pro tweets. And it talked about comic book fans not allocating all of the anti-sentiment to JD fans. Mentioned JD getting fired but that's about it.

Weird, weird, weird.

Do the media all know something? As I say, trying so hard not to get hopes up.

I tend to agree something is happening. It isn't just Sausage Roll, other entertainment tabloids seem to be soft peddling on JD instead of favouring AH and denigrating JD at every turn.

I also did a Bing search yesterday (instead of google) and was surprised at the different news stories around her/Aquaman. I suspect that Google is being paid to suppress search output, but maybe that's just paranoia.

Maybe some prayers have been answered. (The social media has begun to smell the coffee.)

This is their way of apologizing to JD?

(Just a happy thought.)

I read a story today that said that Amber Heard was fired from Aquaman 2 because she gained weight and was out of shape. The article said that her contract stated that she had to be in shape to play Mera. Maybe people at WB are trying to save face for not firing her sooner. WB might not want to admit that they were wrong for backing her, even after there was clear evidence that she committed DV and told many lies. It sounded like Warner Bros. is trying not to upset the Me Too crowd but find a reason to fire her. Unfortunately, I found other stories that said that she has not been fired from Aquaman 2. There were more stories that has not been fired than stories that she has been fired. I think a lot of "journalists" know that Amber Heard/Johnny Depp stories are clickbait. These journalists write whatever they think will bring them the most clicks on a story. I am not going to believe it until it is official announced. For me it is less aggravating than to keep believing rumors.

Judymac your words are very wise I really need to stop torturing myself.

Whether she has been fired or not - the outpouring of cheers either believing or hoping that it is true are astonishing. How anyone can think it is a good idea to hire her is beyond me. When there was controversy of JD's casting as Grindelwald, despite the press fuss - it was clear from social media that he still had a huge support base. She has no support base. It isn't that she is polarising - she unites people against her! So she will bring none of her own fans to the film, and likely keep others who would have watched it - away. Whereas Emilia Clarke is a clear fan favourite.

Just back to the story that she has been fired over weight gain - I do think that is rubbish. I said previously - a month with a personal trainer and a controlled diet and she would be in shape.

The actual rumour was that it was a health issue: that could be something else to do with dependencies or mental health issues. Who knows. It is pointless to speculate so I should stop and I apologise. You guys are my outlet!!

This reason may have been discussed already but I'll reiterate it.
There are a few individuals who post regularly on Twitter that are in the film business. One is a confirmed director and others are actors and/or screenwriters. They've stated, via their inside information, that technically, AH was bought out of her contract by the studio and that she is no longer insurable. Naturally, it won't be publicly announced why she has been replaced, just that when filming begins, another actress will play Mera. There's probably a number of reasons the studio want her off the film but won't admit to anything relating to the Depp/Heard case as being one of them. I tend to believe that she was bought out of her contract because she's too controversial for one (admitted she abused Johnny Depp from her own tapes and never donating the 7 million to the charities as she promised) and, #2, has a reputation of being diva difficult. I'll add #3, she's a terrible actress.
