Re: The Lawsuits Thread
This was JD's opposition to AH's motion to appoint an conciliator. In short, his team said that although a conciliator is used to "speed up the disposition of cases and reduce costs of litigation", it would have been counter productive to bring in a third party at this stage of the case.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I must admit I was somewhat disappointed to see the VA trial pushed out another 11 months, but after a little reflection, this may be a really good thing. Here is my reasoning:
We know that every piece of data revealed through discovery fills another gap in the jigsaw (or cements a piece into place). But just as fraudsters will force arbitration into a lower court with a lower burden of proof, evidence revealed through discovery or sworn to in a pre-trial deposition becomes legally admissable evidence and even if not publicly available, it is not privileged. And just because it was sworn in a civil court, it is still sworn testimony if picked up by a higher, criminal court.
This means it should be available to the FBI, UK Police and Australian biosecurity authorities without the need for a warrant and with the confidence that what is presented is either (mostly the) truth or an act of deliberate perjury, and how they treat it (having tested its veracity) will reveal even more towards their investigations.
And where the UK and VA cases are about defamation, others will be looking at perjury (UK and Australia at least), potential corruption of a High Court judge, foreign interference in government, media ownership and control, tax evasion, illegal use of charitable funds, charity fraud and securities violations to name just a few. After the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund and 1MDB scandals, there will people checking on further money laundering through Hollywood. There is currently an inquiry into media ownership in Australia (targeting NGN and Murdoch) and another is being pushed in the UK. Discovery from the Depp v NGN case in the UK revealed the extent and duration of The Sun's phone hacking activities and a slew of prosecutions (from other victims) has cascaded as a result. WB is something like $160b in debt and facing widescale boycotts on its most lucrative franchises (although the DC universe seems to be crashing all on its own). The Stand bombed and WandaVision is romping it in for Disney, this cannot have gone unnoticed.
As the backlash against cancel culture increases, the ACLU looks more and more like some puppet organisation for the politically connected and wealthy and after the CHLA fraud the abusive fame whore looks cheaper and cheaper by the day. Robbie K. and her TimesUp parasites risk being exposed as not just enablers, but complicit in the various hoaxes they defend.
Doughty Street Chambers and those connected to Justice Nicol must be fearing the CoA. It is not enough to deliver justice (and I use the term very loosely), justice must also be seen to be done. The stench from the UK High Court bench is spreading. Nicol retiring and having Warby moved (promoted?) is not enough. An inquiry will be required, even a token inquiry. If money has been involved, the Police will have to be brought in. Questions in Parliament. And then sometime in the future they know that all the collusion between NGN and Amber and Amber and Whitney will come out (VA subpoenas). It's a ticking time-bomb. It seems an easy out for NGN is to throw AH under the bus (and probably will). When the UK verdict is thrown out and Amber is shown to be a perjurer and golddigger, the VA case will collapse.
At some point enough critical evidence will be revealed through discovery that a criminal investigation can be launched into the hoax and co-conspirators, and the onus may no longer fall on Johnny alone to clear his name. We know Team Depp are not shy (and probably legally required to) reveal actual crimes when they encounter them in the course of preparing a case.
And as each part crumbles away, those co-conspirators must each be thinking privately what deal they could make with either the police or TeamDepp to reduce their own criminal liability. Whitney has a young family to consider. IO seems to be fairly settled and may be happy to cut his losses. Josh doesn't have much to lose and owes Amber and Rocky nothing. Even David may have an angle where he could come out ahead, I think Paige saw how this was going to unfold. And then there's Rocky, should she turn on them before Josh or one of the others turns on her? Any one of them could blow it all apart. Who should Amber be most worried about? Does she have enough on Elon to keep him under control? Such a delicate balance. Juggling all those promises and lies, and for another 11 months. That's gonna take a lot of red wine and lines of coke.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Inquiring Minds thank you - I am also a bit down about it being another whole year away, my main worry is about how JD copes emotionally with it all. On a very selfish level I don't want him to spend the next year on his island out of our sight (and I know the main reason for that of course is the pandemic).
You are right there is an awful lot to come out, and it was clear the AH and her friends were trying to run out the clock so that JD's side wouldn't have all they asked for by the trial date - so in that sense - bluff call AH. And I am loving how targeted JD's side are being. If they can show collusion between AH and Whitney in London that would be very serious.
With regard to NGN not filing anything - is this most likely that the document simply hasn't been updated onto the site yet?
But it got my mind thinking about how NGN can respond to this issue. Obviously overall regarding the appeal they will stick to the line that it was a long and considered judgement.
Regarding the lying over the donation - they have a harder line to walk. They cannot betray that they knew she hadn't donated. There are very strict rules about lawyers knowing and allowing clients or witnesses to lie. So NGN will have to say it had no knowledge. They can argue that new evidence shouldn't be introduced - but their main point needs to be that this new evidence has no bearing on the verdict. That would be arguable if the judge hadn't relied so heavily on AH's word.
I think that's what they'll end up having to go with anyway - ie whether she donated is irrelevant to the issue of whether she was abused. And that will be countered by David Sherborne repeating no doubt multiple times, the judge's own words about the relevant of the donation.
(What NGN actually ought to do right now is express shock and surprise that she didn't donate, and offer JD a deal. We'll apologise for believing her - but as a side note our message to celebrities has been sent loud and clear - don't bother suing us unless you want your life turned upside down. They won't obviously - but it would be the smart thing to do.)
Fingers and everything crossed for 18 March.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
When I am reminded of things like this, I see time as a friend to JD and not the enemy:
You have to think that these very smart lawyers, did indeed lay down markers because they knew what they were dealing with. It was outrageous that AH and Whitney got to listen to all of Johnny's testimony and his witnesses and Whitney hear her sister.
No wonder they had so many sudden memories come back to them on the stand.
David Sherborne laid down his marker/concern and the judge said he had reminded the witnesses about the rules.
Will AH and Whitney have been so careless as to have whatsapped/texted one another? They may have deleted stuff - if found out that is even more trouble. And into the mix of all this is the professional integrity of their lawyers - Elaine and Jen.
As you say Inquiring Minds - time is not on your side if you have to juggle a lot of deception and duplicity.

I agree. But from what I have learned about JD, the guy is so humble and classy, after hearing the news and feeling that first wave of dismay himself, his next thought is what effect it is likely to have on all his supporters. Not through fear of losing their/our support (in that I think he feels steadfast), but because he knows how deeply committed we are. That's why I think our strength can give him strength.my main worry is about how JD copes emotionally with it all

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
All good points Inquiring Minds.
I doubt of course it was a surprise to him - his US lawyers will have been telling him this for probably months now - lawyer get good intelligence from court clerks etc on when cases are happening. So he's had more time than us to process it.
Agree he must take loads of heart from the sheer volume of vocal support he has - and the practical effect the streaming services must be having (royalties into his pocket). Hope Disney is getting the message loud and clear! Please everyone keep streaming - makes no difference to me if it is a Depp streaming day - my dog gets to watch Johnny all day long lucky chap!
The rise in allegations against powerful men may of course have the opposite effect - people are getting fed up with the cancel-culture-with-no-due-process. I worry more about the genuine victims who will end up in the long run not coming forward because of the false cases. By this time next year who knows where we will be, but we will likely simply have more evidence that he was wronged and maybe by then others too who have been wronged.
Although it is disgusting the way much of the press has dealt with the charity donations issue so far - it is now widely known - and maybe, just maybe there will be more publicity when the matter comes up on 18 March.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I am so very sad the trial was delayed so far in the future. I forsee Amber getting work and Johnny not (or behind the scenes like Shane documentary). Neither side caused the delay. When Depp asked for a continuance because of FB3, the judge said no, BUT he was delaying the trial because of COVID until May. BUT he also stated, the trial was only getting penciled in because there was such a backlog and no jury trials were approved yet. AND Criminal trials would take presidence. So both sides anticipated the date would be pushed out.
We have to remember, AH team (the defendent) will do everything available to them (every legal loophole, etc) to not hand over evidence. That is the role of the defense. Not to cooperate. Sadly.
Judge White said no to the Conciliator, so that means motions will be filed publicly and the judgement/orders will also be filed publicly.
As far as Depp vs NGN, I honestly think the Depp team thought they had that won. They were (as so many including Warner Brothers) were shocked at the judgement. So any notes they made along the way for a potential appeal, I don't think were as diligent during the trial. But they came back strong. In hindsight, it's almost good they didn't have the Donation proof as she could have squirmed her way out of that on the stand. Now they can show she perjured herself in an area that the Judge placed great weight on. Note: I don't think Warner Brothers would have let him start filming if they anticipated that judgement. IMHO. They could have easily delayed him a week or several to be sure.
Sadly, I am not sure how much we will be seeing of Johnny for the next year. No new projects with him front and center and doubtful any events. I can't imagine any investors putting up money for a movie of his (for example) and have it open when this trial comes around and could go against him. Breaks my heart honestly.
Last I saw, Aerosmith has postponed their tour until 2022. This does not bode well for Hollywood Vampires continuing in 2021 I would guess.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Morning everyone:
Some thoughts to share. Yes, it is a shame that the trial has to be pushed back until 2022. However, I think this would also be a benefit.
With all of the upcoming subpoenas in depositions I am sure there will be more dirt coming to light. Though the media doesn't want to report it, it is going to come out and it will not be in her favor.
Though I am a little worried about JD, I am sure he is aware of how strong of a support system he has with his fan base. As long as we keep streaming, purchasing movies, and other things on his behalf he will be just fine. Hopefully, he will write some more songs and give us more pics of his artistic projects.
Hopefully, he will give us a few more Instagram messages along the way.
Another thing that has come to mind. She had the audacity to hire a private investigator to go back 30 years to try to get dirt on him. JD is very quiet, there is nothing saying that he has not done the same to her, and has yet to bring it to the surface.
I don't think that her Partners of Crime will last until April of 2022. I'm sure there will be a big crack somewhere. It might be Rocky, Josh, or Io. Then again we have the business with the bribery and Whitney. Now that Muskie boy is involved along with the ACLU more stuff is going to be coming out and it is not going to look good.
For those people in the media, organizations, and Studio execs that wish to have her in their movies and in their organizations are only looking at their bottom line at the moment. What are they going to say, what are they going to do, when reality hits in that they have backed the wrong horse?
Who knows, March 18th in the UK, may well turn the tide, truth will rear up it's head and bite our female "Voldemort" - (she who will not be named,) on her butt. Oh happy day, that will be. The fandom will be doing snoopy dances for justice and a very gentle soul - an artist, and true gentlemen from head to toe - our JD.

Regarding future projects for Johnny. Victoria Mary Clarke, Shane MacGowan's wife, joyfully acknowledged on her Twitter account that Johnny, does indeed, have other projects in the works other than films. Though she wasn't specific, the news was optimistic.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
The VA trial getting pushed back is not such a bad thing, IMO. There will be a lot more to present as discovery continues and she and her flying monkeys have to hand over documents. They better not lie about their phone records in discovery and depositions because JD can get them from the phone company even if they were deleted. If the case moves on for a new trial and he wins, even better but that might be getting too far ahead of ourselves right now.
Maybe I am wrong but I don't remember her ever admitting on the stand in the UK she gave the money to charity. I know her lawyer told the judge the information about contributions was in one of the bundles but he never bothered to look at it. I doubt this alone is enough to get a new hearing date (even if the judge based a decision on believing she wasn't a gold digger) but it could show that he was lazy and bias and if he believed her about not being a gold digger then it shows poor judgment on his part believing her regarding the alleged incidents just because she swore under oath, so maybe JD has a good chance at getting granted a re-trial.
As for projects - There has always been "news" about Johnny wanting to so a series of television shows. Doug Stanhope said while JD was filming Mortdecai he spoke to Doug bout doing a tv comedy series about emergency room visits, or something like that (some kind of dry humor series) but soon after Doug got a call from Chrissy who said that JD got engaged and the serious was getting put on hold. There was also talk of him playing Gomez Adams for Tim Burton's series but that was never confirmed and the focus is not going be on the family, but Wednesday Adams.
Frankly, American cinemas took, and are still taking, a big hit with the covid and it will probably go on for a long time yet. A lot of them closed and in NYC they are only at 15% capacity. None of any of the films coming out will make money like they did before but still the stars will get blamed for poor ticket sales.
My guess is JD will be making more music and producing films and videos. With his imagination, anything is possible.

I don't think "Tash Brooks" will willingly cooperate/corroborate Jennifer Howell testimony after reading last AH's sister's post.
She must be the one Jennifer was referring to when she said people have been asked to avoid their subpoena ... it is sad.

If AH & Co., have asked people to dodge their subpoenas, and Adam can prove it - it's not going to look good. That is just showing just how desperate things are getting.

From what I can see this is NGN's problem for believing in her and not looking at her records.

In fact, in the UK, Heard’s team recently filed an opposition to the appeal there, and Depp’s barristers have until February 28 to reply.
According to Deadline, there has been an opposition filing in UK
