Melanie says she was supposed to go bowling with Amber (since when does Amber bowl?) the night before the James Corden show but Amber said no because there was an alleged "bad" fight with Johnny. So the NEXT day she goes to the apartment to apply make up (where a hair stylist was also there) and sees writing JD did "that night" and alleged injuries. Then the three of them leave to go to the studio but the James Corden show doesn't tape at night. Ok.....

As has already been pointed out elsewhere; why take a picture of Johnny's bit of graffiti, which could mean anything and might even not have anything to do with Amber, but no pictures of the black eyes, busted lip, and maybe broken nose they claim she had?
And the laceration of her scalp. The broken glass everywhere.
They have clearly never watched cops shows and movies where the forensic experts take pictures of every little bit of evidence ...
If the evidence really was there then why not point your phone at it and take a pic? I won't believe they didn't have their phones with them.

Presumably some (although I suspect not all) of AH's friends were as shocked as we were about the tape where she freely admits and even boasts about hitting him.

If you lied to help your friend because you thought she was being abused -you would listen to that recording and think 'uh-oh what charges HAVE I done'.

The only thing against my own argument is that Raquel seemed to be practically living with them so must have had some inkling; Whitney seems to have witnessed AH's violence and may have had first hand knowledge; and Melanie was there in the week after May 21.
I think Raquel was the only one in on it. Io seemed to be shocked by the tape going by his DMs to Brian.

It seems Melanie now thinks she's guilty. To say she has no interest in being a witness in this case, well you wouldn't say that if your friend really was being abused - sorry I have no interest in that.

The weird thing is trying to backtrack on the declaration, how can she say they've exaggerated when it's there in black and white? She now needs to decide whether to keep up her lies or tell the truth and admit that she lied before. Both could result in perjury charges.

Given the overload on the criminal justice system - I think perjury charges will only happen if Adam Waldman pushes for it - and remember his background is as a Washington public affairs lawyer - that's literally what they do. Push stuff.

That's why my advice to Raquel and in fact everyone would be to go and talk to JD's side and admit they were manipulated/scared/thought they were doing the right thing. JD has such a lovely soft heart I doubt he would push for anyone who came clean now to be punished by law.

Just tell the freakin' truth, it comes out anyway eventually.

Amen!
Ehm, I agree with you about Johnny being willing to let them off if they admitted they lied.
But will he also - and should he - let Amber go free if she, grudgingly probably, admits to her lies?

I whole heatedly agree that all Johnny wants is the truth be revealed. He's not one to be looking for extreme punishment toward witnesses, but if his legal team requires the act of persuasiveness in getting to the truth, warning them with perjury charges is legally justified.

My question as well, meeps. I believe Johnny will let the court decide her proper punishment.
As far as he's concerned, she "didn't exist".

It’s all poorly written too. But I think AH canceled her plans that night. Had dinner with HD at Agos and saw Melanie the next day. I don’t think Melanie was there the night of the fight

No, she wasn't there the night of the fight. She said that had plans to go bowling with AH the night before the James Corden show but AH cancelled because of a fight with Johnny. Then she says she went to the apartment, put the make up on AH and then her and the stylist left for the studio. She had to have been there in the morning of the show because it films in the afternoon. She made it sound like she was there the night of the fight because she said that she attached a pic of the writing on the countertop she "saw that night."

I think someone made up this declaration, gave it to her and asked her to sign it.

Amber's dec from the VA case says on the night of Dec. 15, 2015 she had plans to meet with Raquel and Melanie at the apartment but before they arrived Johnny started a fight with her (and by the way she describes the rooms he would have had to drag her up the stairs, down the stairs and up the stairs again) then the next thing she remembers was Raquel in her room screaming OMG! OMG OMG! Together, with Melanie, whom she said had also arrived, they called a nurse to instruct them on how to conduce a concussion check over the phone. Said Johnny wrote a message on the countertop. She texted the publicist to tell her she might not be able to make the James Corden show the next day but she wouldn't know until morning how bruised she would be. Then she said she asked Melanie and Raquel to help cover up the "bruises, bleeding and swelling."

Melanie, on the otherhand tells a completely different story. She says that the first time she saw evidence of abuse was right before the James Corden show. She never mentions Raquel being there or calling a nurse and Amber never mentions the hair stylist being there either.

I don't know why Amber would need a make up and hair stylist when Samantha would be at the studio but maybe for the paps when she arrived.

Thanks to Laura B:

Reading this makes me realize how much trouble I have with burdening Johnny’s admittedly “lovely, soft heart” with taking the lead in doling out consequences: Johnny initially said he hoped by pursuing justice and truth in his case, he might help others experiencing the overwhelming hopelessness he’d weathered for so long. I can’t get past the pic of the morally bankrupt AH and pals walking along, a day after the courtroom/bruises expose, heads thrown back, giddy with (triumphant?) laughter.

Hoaxing is not a board game for passing a lazy Sunday afternoon. It is a bloodsport borne of vile, twisted, ruthless lies perpetuated by agenda-driven - in some cases, untouchable - individuals and/or forces. A hoax perpetrated against an innocent person is designed to devest that person of his/her humanity, with enough pain left over to also torment dear family and loyal friends into the sunset. No. “I lied, I’m sorry.” Not enough. Not for the ringleader, not for the ringleader’s greedy, heartless, ignorant minions. Adults, all, must once again be held accountable in a meaningful manner for their choices. Truth has to be acknowledged. Truth has to have longevity, else how are our children to revere it going forward?

Thanks, Justintime.

She's a real piece of work and I'm sure Johnny didn't want to file a lawsuit against her because he said that he didn't want to smear her name, he didn't want anything but to end the relationship peacefully. He kept quiet for so long while she was out there doing interviews, videos, speeches, "letters to sisters" and articles but in the end she left him no other choice.

I don't think any of them will admit they lied. Not now, not ever.

Johnny may be reluctant to push for Amber being prosecuted, but she should be. She's a spousal abuser, she abused him and she abused a former partner and as such they should throw the book at her.
There was a recent article discussing this case, and I was frankly shocked and disturbed when a lady lawyer, who specialises in representing abused refugees , was supporting Heard and argued that her story must be believed because it will have repercussions for abused women.
Heard has been exposed as a liar, yet people are still defending her.

Hollyberry:

Though JD maybe reluctant to prosecute. As he has said before, she is nothing to him now.

He is not only clearing his name and repairing his reputation, he is helping others who are true victims of domestic violence. He is representing men, women, children (bullying) and our elderly. By exposing the truth, that both genders are capable of this crime.

The attorney that suggested that we believe AH be a fan and / or has issues with men. She wants to stay one-sided. To believe all women.

That attorney obviously didn't listen to the recordings of Amber admitting to abusing him.
