I don't quite believe in that 'last minute ticket' or her eagerness to testify ...
The ticket, I think, was a misguided attempt to smear Johnny - calling him a coward for doing the sensible thing in a pandemic, and staying put. All the more so because the judge said, that he didn't want the main witnesses to testify via video link, so there was no reason to hurry to London.
And Amber's eagerness to testify in general? She practically had to be forced to sit for a disposition in the divorce case. And she, and her team, have tried four times to make the US trial go away. That doesn't sound like a confident woman ready to stand up for herself with plenty of evidence behind her to show she's right.

I agree, meeps. The courtroom is one stage she dreads setting foot upon - UK and USA.

Aa I recall they said Amber found a flight out and was ready to come to court. This was on 20 March, 2020. I don’t remember they said she had bought the ticket. Also, if she was so gun-ho to be there as reported a month earlier in the DM, why hadn’t she bought the ticket then?

Please note the careful wording. He never said she “booked the flight” or “bought a ticket”

Mr Wolanski told the court that Ms Heard, 33, who is giving evidence in support of The Sun’s defence, was “prepared to move heaven and earth to make this trial happen and to come and give evidence”.

He added: “She is currently in California, but despite all the travel problems that exist and despite the risks to her health of travelling, she has found a flight leaving Los Angeles today.”

This is a tricky one. I don't have any specific quote to offer what AH claims about "having a ticket" but I do recall that there were a number of different statements made from different sources regarding her eagerness to get to the UK court. As meeps pointed out, I also believe the statements were made in an attempt to smear Johnny. They sarcastically suggested that he was a coward and wouldn't come to the UK in person when the truth was that the the country was in Covid19 lock down. The timing of her "ticket purchase" and flight availability is questionable too. From what I understand and it still may be the rule, that there is a fourteen day quarantine in place for travelers coming into the UK. How would that affect a court appearance on her part if she's a witness on a specific date? Since that's all in the past now, it's never too early to get her flight booked for July's court date. We don't hear her boasting about that, do we?

Same thing, IMO, whether she "bought" or "booked" a ticket. He was implying that she was ready to go but my opinion is that it would have been via private jet because that would have been the only way she would have been able to get there since Trump had banned flights to the UK at the time. No, Amber would love nothing more than to smear him as much as she can and besides, she has nothing better to because she has no real work.

She would have to get to the UK 14 days prior to her scheduled date and I'm sure we will know when she arrives because she loves the attention.

If her goal was to smear him, then why try to get her testimony in private. She tried to get her entire testimony sealed, the judge only agreed to a small few minutes and specific to her new allegations.

She has to be there 14 days before her testimony, unless something changes, if she arrives I am sure she will have called the paps to welcome her at the airport.

There's no chance in :censored: that Heard wants to testify in either trial.
Indeed, she wants this to all go away. She tried to make it go away in both lawsuits and it didn't work.

But she's left with no choice.

The Sun knows they are going to lose.
I think that they decided they might as well go to trial even if they lose.
If their main witness didn't testify then they would have to settle on Johnny's terms without reaching trial.
So, I am assuming, The Sun pressured Heard to testify.
It appears The Sun wants to take this to the bitter end with their primary witness on the court stand.

Just to clarify on the UK lockdown rules and court situation.

The 14 day quarantine rule doesn't come into effect until 8 June. There was no rule in place just before the trial, she could have travelled except it would have been massively irresponsible. And agree with everyone on here who says if she wanted to be here, she would have been in London preparing herself.

JD was in France when they locked down. Perfectly reasonable for him to be at his nearest home to London ready for the trial - events unfolded quite quickly and there was little anyone could do. I imagine his plan was to stay in France and arrive in London for the trial - indeed his barrister David Sherbornne was with him in France (lucky duck), no doubt planned and preparing for the case.

He could not given evidence from France - this wasn't a case of dialling in on Skype or zoom from home - it would have needed to be done from a specially established court facility - that was ready to go in LA in anticipation of the LA based witnesses on both sides, but no arrangements were ready in France. Infuriates me the ignorant AH stans says he was too scared to dial in. Pre-trial hearings are allowing lawyers to dial in from home but actual cases require proper formality, you can't have witnesses casually dialling in from the pub or wherever they happen to be. For goodness sake!!

Based on the few UK/California subpoenas. The video link will be held at Beverly Hills Bar Association in their speculation conference room.

As far as I know, Amber is giving evidence and testifying on her own free will. She is not under subpoena and her testimony is not court ordered. She does not have to appear if she doesn't want to. She does, but she wants to do it on her terms, like everything else she does. At one poiint her lawyers fought in legal papers g\t o get Johnny to lift the NDA so she could testify. Why would they do that if she didn't want to go???

Forever Young - We beg to disagree.

Heard didn't need to be subpoenaed because she did what The Sun told her to do. It's that simple.

They are in control of this situation not Heard. She seems to forget and it seems so do you.

Another reason, like stated above, The Sun can't go to trial without their main witness. They are going to lose with her but they are *especially* going to lose without her.

As for the NDA that was another ploy from :censored: lawyers to pretend that she's into testifying but the :censored: lawyers knowing full well that Johnny would never go for the lifting of the NDA.

Then The Sun's :censored: lawyers put up a *stay* motion because of the NDA which thankfully was knocked back by the UK Judge.

Another day in the life of :censored: lawyers.

I can't believe you don't see all of the above.

MaryS - "We" can go at the until the cows come home but I think we all know Amber wants to screw him in the worst way possible which is why all this began. The Sun doesn't own her. Yes, they could use blackmail to smear her and stuff like that but at this point she's done in Hollywood anyway.
