Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Justintime, watch it's that easy.
I didn't think that Heard had a case right from the start, and I especially don't think she has one now.
What with all the evidence that has come to light, and her ever changing stories.
I am sure Justice Nicol who is a consummate professional agrees.
Relax, Johnny has this.
There seems to be a Johnny fan on twitter who is writing falsehoods and the rest of the fandom are having a meltdown.
To those I say relax, the press have been trying to discredit Johnny and his fans right from the start and they have failed.
It's going to take more than one uninformed fan to bring down what we have achieved.
This is why I am not on twitter.
Article: Emilia Clarke to replace Heard.
Her stans have descended on the article.
This better happen when Johnny wins both cases.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Justintime - just on the point of why David Sherborne (DS) didn't 'pull back the curtain' - as his opponent barrister was reminded - at these sessions you are not allowed to present evidence and start arguing the case. It's a bit nuanced - the barristers are basically there at this point to argue about the procedure. So present their legal justification for requesting a particular piece of evidence or witness be admitted into the case when it is heard. Of course, in doing so, sometimes you do start arguing the case itself because you are demonstrating the value of the witness/evidence.
So it just wasn't the moment for DS to jump in and say "you know what - your claim that my client was abusive and controlled her access to the car is bullshit because here are 20 instagram pictures of her driving it about the place". Because at that point the two lawyers would have been arguing the case itself - and there weren't witnesses present to call on.
I actually thought the transcript - insofar as we could understand it from what the writer picked up - was extremely telling about how the Sun intends to fight this, and they are basically throwing AH under the bus in my opinion.
I think they are going to argue that yes AH wasn't a very nice person, yes she shouted at and abused others (Kate James, David Killakey), yes she lied on court documents and official letters and tried to get witnesses to lie for her (Kate James, Kevin Murphy) but that JD was abusive to her therefore is a wife beater. And all of that is before you even get to the tapes - which at no point show that he physically harmed her - and the plethora of other witnesses photos etc showing that she lied.
And given that she is the one who is witness to his supposed abuse - it is all rather inconvenient - because she cannot be presented as a credible, truthful witness.
(I also loved the moment when Wass said that Kate James couldn't talk about AH's use of drugs - that it was down to Dr Kipper to tell us about that - and I thought, hmmm, indeed it is and we are all looking forward to it.)

Thank you, Ladies, for bothering to reply to my seemingly baseless frustrations. Special thanks to AdeleAgain for your detailed and very helpful explanation.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I guess Whitney Heard did, in fact, give a statement or is involved. Amber's lawyer references that Kate James statement that she saw Amber many times dressing and undressing for fittings and that she was with her almost every day contradicts the evidence "Amber and her sister" gave.

People need to realize that anybody can write anything on Twitter and it does not necessarily need to be true. I only read Brian's Twitter and not any of the comments. I know Brian does research on the things that he posts. Other people are just posting opinions that could be correct or incorrect.MaryS wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 4:01 amJustintime, watch it's that easy.

I think that you mean that Amber Heard does not have a defense.
We have heard the rumor about Amber Heard being replaced many times. I will believe it if the studio confirms it or if they start shooting without her.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Thank you Adele for explaining this. There are procedures in court (both U.S. and U.K) that must be followed. I don't know about the U.K, but in the U.S. a procedural error could be grounds for an appeal. That is why judges are very careful to follow proper procedure.AdeleAgain wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 5:09 amJustintime - just on the point of why David Sherborne (DS) didn't 'pull back the curtain' - as his opponent barrister was reminded - at these sessions you are not allowed to present evidence and start arguing the case. Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I can't wait till the trial. Not one but two Heard sisters testifying is going to be a bit of a laugh. Let's see who's crazier of the two. I always thought it was Amber but I could be wrong. The whole family is weird.
Judymac, I agree, with Aquaman 2.
Similar to reports on Johnny & POTC6 which I don't read because they're bias against him. Let's wait and see what Disney says and does.
I am sure that Heard supporters are flooding the comment sections on Johnny articles trying to sway opinion. Trying to get back at him because of Heard's crumbling career.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
When did Whitney change her name??? Did she get married in some kind of secret ceremony? This whole family is so strange.

How pathetic that none of Amber's witnesses ever said they witnessed abuse.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
What's more pathetic is that Josh, Rat, Elizabeth & Melanie were probably the ones that The Sun *sued* to testify. I wonder which way they are going to go?ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 9:53 pm

This trial is turning into a circus, but that's alright, the clown act is Heard's team

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Josh testified that Rat never got a text to come to the apartment so I don't see how he can help the defense. He doesn't seem to want anything to do with the matter so I won't be surprised if he doesn't testify.MaryS wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 10:26 pmWhat's more pathetic is that Josh, Rat, Elizabeth & Melanie were probably the ones that The Sun *sued* to testify. Right - hope this is correct: from John Bruce's twitter
Quick update on decision handed down today - [2020] EWHC 1237 (QB) - relief against sanctions granted. Permission to call Mr Killackey as witness refused. Permission also refused for parts of Kate James' witness statement. Permission given for Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis.
