Re: The Lawsuits Thread
The judge has not issued an answer as to her latest request for dismissal yet. This looks like they wanted to bring the judge's attention to a recent deformation case and use it in support of their latest request for dismissal.

Here is the link to the court's site. Just click on the arrow on the drop down menu and select the case.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Yes, I agree that Kaplan is using the new case of defamation in hopes of getting this case dismissed. However, I was under the impression that the op-ed written in the Washington Post in December of 2018, The Washington Post admitted that the article was about JD. With that information, does this not constitute that this whole article which we all know, was based on a lie. (In the readings of the new defamation case that Kaplan has submitted to the court, this was more a public opinion politically speaking. If I read the document correctly, there was a lot of information that the judge used that was actually factual. That's why this was dismissed. Kaplan has no facts, evidence, or anything else to prove Heard's position. Am I reading this wrong?

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I also have the perhaps, no probably naive point of view, that the case quoted was more two guys, who didn't agree politically, and so one let his mouth run quite publicly, which is of course pretty unpleasant for the other party.
But Amber Heard has actually accused Johnny several times of committing many violent crimes against her.
Not just called him stupid, too fond of sex and so on.
In my eyes there is a large difference between the seriousness of the defamation in the two cases.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Thanks so much, I thought I misread everything. My interpretation of this documentation does not parallel in basics with the defamation suit that Johnny Depp has against Amber Heard.

AH's speech - LA Women's March. Listen to it, still taking shots at JD.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I wonder how her lawyers feel about her shooting off her mouth again but I'll bet Johnny's team is doing happy dances because it just gives him more ammunition now and makes her defense worse. This one stubborn woman who thinks she can do anything she wants to without repercussion.

Add variety. https://variety.com/2020/scene/events/w ... F8A8z8Rsn3

Heard, who has accused ex-husband Johnny Depp of domestic violence, made reference to her “very public, heart-wrenchingly lonely battle for justice” during her speech, while imploring women to speak up and end the culture of silence. “I am here today to join my voice with yours in recognizing that times are changing and they are changing as we step out of the shadows and into the light and lift our voices into a movement, recognizing that we together, standing shoulder to shoulder, comprise a vast, unstoppable force for change.”

She just doesn't get it. Nothing is ever her fault. Johnny's team is going to have a field day on this and her lawyers must be banging their heads against a wall. I can only imagine how they must feel right now....

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Sure she does - she always knows exactly what she’s doing. Especially, it seems, where Johnny is concerned.
Agreed. You’re absolutely right.
I sure hope so. And I hope the Hon. Bruce D. White agrees with them without reservation.

No matter how they feel, it will never be awful enough ...
