Re: The Lawsuits Thread
Frankly, I could care less if anyone was paid off and how much because it has NOTHING to do with her.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
It was mentioned here but not sure where this should be posted. THR updated with a statement JD is not involved

And finally the journalist fesses up from THR, note, however, he is apologizing to Corey Feldman for the confusion, not to Johnny for the outright lies. Corey deleted that tweet but many other scathing Johnny he kept

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
This was an excellent opportunity to bring up the abuse allegations and the death threat issued by Amber's father, David. This would have been a wonderful opportunity for this gentleman to show the way. He could have reported the truth and given Johnny Depp the proper coverage that he's so rightfully deserves.

Yes, but he didn't. And I have just seen that CNN also picked up the false story complete with claiming, they have all about it ...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
After thinking about this yesterday, I was hoping the retraction would be the end of discussing it here. I don't think it needs a thread of its own, as it's really a non-story where Johnny is concerned.

Mr. Chew’s response to Kaplan’s letter to the Court. I sincerely hope, through all this back and forth, the Court realizes and appreciates (and truly sees the bigger picture) Mr. Chew’s capacity for enormous restraint.
Thank you very much, to LauraB.

Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of hearing yesterday on one of her many motions?

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
When the trial date was changed it affected all the deadlines. So I guess he was no longer late with his expert list so can still amend whatever she was complaining about. Not sure about bifurcation. The police deposition issue is set for next Friday although I see Depp team subpoenaed them again.ForeverYoung wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 8:31 pmWasn't there supposed to be some kind of hearing yesterday on one of her many motions?

I would think if the hearing for yesterday was postponed to a new date it would have been posted in the site.

Re: The Lawsuits Thread
I wish they had a section on their website with upcoming hearing and conference dates like lacourt.org has. The reschedule of the trial date was more than a simple reschedule. Chew mentioned they were warned not to spin it. So there were discussions of some kind. Maybe the Friday motion was postponed and they have to refile it. I’m thinking if the expert delay is no longer an issue then maybe they have to refile and separate out the bifurcate issue. That’s just me speculating

I would think if the hearing for yesterday was postponed to a new date it would have been posted in the site.
1. Plaintiff’s Motion to Use Prior Depositions (i.e. the related: Deposition Praecipe, Deposition, and Memorandum in Support of Motion to use Prior Depositions) ? Was a hearing ever held? Did the Court ever render a ruling in that regard? I think these documents were filed on November 22, 2019, but I don’t recall any follow-up.
2. Defendant’s Motion to Strike Plaintiff’s Expert Disclosures. Who exactly is Kaplan targeting in this motion? I thought the “experts” in question were all those high tech folks examining the text messages, cell phones, and computers etc. of the parties. Are prior depositions by the Police Department considered “expert disclosures” as well?
3. Have 1 and 2 somehow been merged into one??
4. The Bifurcation Praecipe and the Expert Disclosures issue - originally entered through one motion - were being heard yesterday (that was the hearing that was granted a reschedule but the “13th” looked like a “15th” - which was a Sunday - so the court moved it to yesterday, the 5th). But now it looks as though nothing took place yesterday on either of them.
5. I still have the Demurrer Dismissal and Plea in Bar scheduled for Friday, December 20th, BUT doesn’t all that other stuff have to be resolved first? Is there a new calendar somewhere available to the public?
6. Don’t want to muddy the waters any more than they already are, but I’ve been wondering for a long while now whether Samantha Spector can be subpoenaed if her past client, AH, were to remember her call to Ms. S. that night of May 21st requesting advice (perhaps along the lines of “don’t tell them anything and whatever you do, DON’T file an official Police Report . . .” ) on what to do when the police - on their way - arrived?
