Rolling Stone:

Joe Perry collapsed backstage during Hollywood Vampires' performance in Coney Island, New York Sunday night, with the guitarist requiring transportation to a nearby Brooklyn hospital.

Video from the concert at the Ford Amphitheater shows Perry seated on the drum riser and seemingly dazed mid-performance before abruptly stumbling offstage. Once backstage, the guitarist lost consciousness and collapsed; EMTs on site revived Perry and immediately transported him to the hospital around 9:30 p.m. EST.

"If you notice one of our brothers is not onstage with us, he was very sick before show," Cooper told the audience of Perry's absence (via Aerosmith fan site AeroFanatic). The Hollywood Vampires continued on with Sunday's performance following Perry's exit. Cooper asked the crowd to chant "Get well, Joe" during the band's performance.

After the show, Cooper tweeted that the guitarist was in stable condition. "Thanks to everyone asking about our brother Joe Perry," Cooper wrote. "He is stable right now, with family & is under the best care."

"Joe Perry is stable and resting," a rep for the group tells Rolling Stone. "His brother Vampires and fans wish him a speedy recovery." The rep later added that Perry was "doing well and resting and appreciates all your good wishes."

One hour before the concert, Perry appeared to be in good spirits, posting a photo of him "warming up" with Hollywood Vampires' Tommy Henriksen prior to the Coney Island gig.

Australian musician Rai Thistlethwayte has been added to the roster for tomorrow's concert in Ohio. He's listed as "special guest." They still list Joe but I'm sure he won't be there.

Good news Vampires fans! Sounds like they expect Joe will be back on stage again soon! :applause:

Also, Ian Hunter of Mott the Hoople was a guest Vampire Sunday. Love that they did a Lou Reed song (Sweet Jane).

Joe Perry ‘Seems to Be Better Than First Feared’ According to Aerosmith Bandmate
By Graham Hartmann July 12, 2016 9:34 AM

We’ve got encouraging news to report on Aerosmith legend Joe Perry’s health. According to Aerosmith bandmate Tom Hamilton, Perry seems to be doing better than first thought. In fact, he is even expected to rejoin his supergroup the Hollywood Vampires on the road “soon.”

Hollywood Vampires have assured fans that Perry is “stable and resting.” The group will continue its current tour, as mentioned by singer Alice Cooper in the tweet below. Perry is not back with the band yet, but the Hollywood Vampires’ publicist says he will rejoin Hollywood Vampires soon.

When Joe rejoins the tour, he may want to seriously consider cutting out the bits where he smashes the guitar, and where he plays one behind his head. These activities can't be great for a 65 year old guy with cardiac issues.
As to the Vampires bringing in a substitute guitarist, I'm sort of wondering why? I know they're used to having a 4 guitar onslaught, but I feel like between Johnny, Tommy, and Bruce they could make do for a few nights. Seems like kind of a slight on their skills to bring in some other guitar slinger for the flashy solos when I'm sure Johnny and Tommy could trade off on solo duties quite capably. Most of the reviews talk about how it's hard for them to pick out exactly what Johnny's doing except for moments here and there. This would be the time for the band to allow their depth on guitar to shine through and showcase their other guitarists some more instead of hustling to find a temporary replacement for Joe.
"There is certainly a part of me that tends to be that loner. You never find me in the center of the crowd. I just like to stay back a little and hang in the shadows."
