Deadline has lots more.

Also, doesn’t appear Depp team happy with delay. Not sure how all these trials may affect FB3 filming, Feb defamation and now May assault

“Going over her schedule today before the October 21 set starting trial, Judge Holly Fujie decided that the three-day matter would be better dealt with next spring – May 11, 2020 to be exact.”

“Then they crated this whole story of this African-American women that Rocky was supposedly berating on the set is untrue and absolutely defamatory,” the lawyer added, noting that his client was homeless himself for a while as a teen and was partially raised by an African-American woman. “Depp can say whatever he wants but to create this fabrication that goes to the heart of who Rocky is, it’s killing him.”

“Rocky Brooks’ opportunistic hoax persists despite overwhelming evidence ranging from the sworn testimony of the multiple eyewitnesses, time-stamped photographs taken by the script supervisor, and other unambiguous facts,” the Endeavor Law Firm attorney asserted. “Because Mr. Brooks’ hoax was granted a scheduling reprieve by the court, justice must unfortunately wait a little longer.”

“Mr. Depp’s legal team will now focus all of its attention on the Bloom trial and the November depositions of Elon Musk, James Franco, and Amber Heard, assuming that they will show up and testify,” Waldman noted of some of the big names that were drawn into the battle with the lawyers with deposition notices back in April. ”

Thanks, Lbock, for the Link to Johnny’s redacted deposition. I read through it and found, though interesting, all the redacted info - blocks of whole pages in places - make for very easily misconstrued responses and narratives.

One thing that is very striking, though, is the lack of contrived or calculated responses from Johnny. Just obviously someone trying to recount, honestly and to the best of his memory, events of over two years ago while always staying within the parameters of the often leading questions.

Also, amazed to read he’d not read Emma Danoff’s statement until the day before/or morning of his deposition. What happened, happened and, sometimes to a fault, Johnny relied solely on his memory of what occurred. No embellishments, no histrionics, no memory-jogged recountings or truth-dodging ramblings. Like night and day when compared to AH’s (unrelated) abominable, staged depo performance.

From the Deadline article we also got our first taste of the twisted desperation the newest addition to the Brooks’ attorney team, Pat Harris, will be contributing to this circus over the next seven months. He fits in well with the unmitigated, arrogant disregard for justice and truth Rocky and friends have displayed to date. Mr. Harris’ comments certainly do go very pointedly “to the heart of who Rocky is”, although surely not in any way remotely intended by Harris.

:heartflower: Thanks for posting the link to Johnny's partial depo. A lot of interesting material in there, although I don't see what a lot of Brooks' attorney's questions had to do with this lawsuit:
- Johnny's dad and his wife were on set that day;

- Nathan Holmes no longer works as Johnny's assistant and lives in Yorkshire;

- If Brooks did, in fact, work on 90s film The Brave, he sure didn't make an impression on Johnny because Johnny said City of Lies was the first time he could recall meeting the guy;

- Brooks' attorney says Johnny worked with Emma Danoff on 2-3 prior films and Johnny said he recalls something like that within the last 10 years but he'd check IMDB for that info if he wanted to check; i didn't see any imdb credits on a Depp film besides City of Lies; maybe unfilmed or uncredited projects?

- Johnny's filmmaking process, including the anecdote about the actress in Don Juan as well as how he learned the usefulness of an earpiece from Brando, although Johnny said he used it for music except in instances where several pages of dialogue were suddenly added during filming - since it was impossible to be prepared, in such an instance Keenan would help him with the lines via earpiece. And then the situation where Brando would stop filming early due to fatigue (I assume The Brave): Johnny as Director would shoot all Marlon's closeups and then play Marlon's dialogue in his ear so that he could shoot his own scenes in response while Marlon rested in the evening (if I'm understanding that correctly).

With the Bloom Hergott suit in December, moving the Brooks suit to May seems wise. Maybe Brooks and his lawyer will drop it by then. I'm all in favor of a scorched-earth policy when it comes to extortionists, thieves and shameless con artists. But it's not my money.

I think Johnny actually answered he thought he worked with Emma 2-3 times and yes I didn’t see anything in IMDb

Also, Johnny and Brad did not get along and clearly bad blood with Miriam Segal. She was originally also being sued but is now Rocky’s witness.

Sad three years after the incident. His witnesses have to remember details from so long ago. Johnny had trouble remembering what movies he made and forgot Richard all together

Here is an excerpt from Johnnys trial brief I purchased. Rocky didn’t even see a doctor. He saw a therapist only after he received discovery interrogatories

Thank you Lbock for further researching and sharing the document with us. If we, Johnny's fans, understand how Rocky clearly hurt his defense, there is no doubt that Johnny's legal team will surely quash Brooks' claim in a heartbeat at trial. It's a little frustrating that the trial date has been pushed back but in the end, Johnny will triumph.

I don't see how he is going to testify for physical damage when he had no treatment and no expert. As for his "mental anguish" he doesn't look too upset in the selfie.

Somebody wrote that Brooks went to see the family therapist after he sued Johnny Depp and was told to bring medical records. I do not think that the judge will be happy with that. And it was also said that a family therapist cannot testify in front of the judge. It would need an independant therapist. So Brooks has in fact no evidence.
But I am glad when all those trials are finished and Johnny could clear his name.

Does somebody knows more about the Sun suit?

I am glad to be able to come to this forum and read all about Johnny.
Thanks to all of you who post all the answers. :smiliewithhearts:

Is this for real or just nonsense? I thought, that it was already decided, that medical records wasn't going to be shown ...

In my eyes Johnny's addiction to this or that doesn't prove abuse. Not all drunks are violent monsters. And neither are all drug addicts. But I still worry, that if team Heard get their hands on Johnny's files, they will be published the day after and maybe even sooner. So I hope this is just click bait!

Under the protective order medical records and related info is to be marked confidential and sealed. Those referenced in his deposition should be redacted from public view

Kaplan claimed they won their motion in full. But no mention of romantic partners. Payouts. Employees. NDAs or other Settlements. Hmmmm. ??

The court order isn't posted yet, but medical records were not excluded. Medical records were ordered protected, meaning they are only accessible to the legal teams (and, unfortunately, all the legal staff, experts, and other vendors who would be working on the case). They won't appear on the court website of documents or publicly anywhere else. Only people with strict need to know are allowed to view the records which are marked confidential and those accessing them must sign their name acknowledging confidentiality.

Although they tried to block Johnny's records as irrelevant, Johnny and Depp's team would know it was possible for his records to be part of this.

Here's Waldman from today's Blast news article.
https://theblast.com/c/Johnny-depp-ambe ... on-lawsuit

'Adam Waldman, Depp's attorney said in a statement, "#MeToo spokesperson Amber Heard, who has not presented a single witness, shred of evidence nor uttered a word to support her abuse hoax since she was sued for it last March, seeks instead to simply smear Mr. Depp. Since she can’t explain the inexplicable – the huge chorus of eyewitnesses, photographs, video surveillance footage, her own assault arrest history and previously sworn admissions of violence against Mr. Depp."

He continued, "Ms. Heard and her #Timesup legal team don’t waste any time trying to prove their hoax case. Instead, they seek only to shame Mr. Depp for his public addiction problems from which he already survived painful recovery."

Depp's attorney tells us, "Ms. Heard already canceled her own deposition and all others the moment she realized the public would see them. What real abuse victim would run away from the chance to tell his or her story? Mr. Depp is ready to sit for his deposition today, or any day. A chair, a court reporter, a video camera and our questions continue to wait for Ms. Heard and her confederates Elon Musk and James Franco. Witnesses were willing to lie to support Ms. Heard’s fraud years ago – where are they now?'

Do we know who actually argued the case for each side? Can the decision be appealed?

Have there been any requests by Johnny’s attorneys for AH’s medical records? If not, why not? Didn’t Johnny say in his initial statement/declaration her frequent mixing of alcohol with prescription and non-prescription drugs would often precipitate her wild, unprovoked attacks against him?

Her history of drug use, her suppliers, and her unconventional methods of injection are apparently well known in Hollywood circles. And how about all those sealed court records back in Texas? And do we suppose she was an angel when in NY, before making her way to the Hollywood scene?

My biggest moral issue is with Kaplan. She has absolutely no evidence or history of domestic violence by Johnny and apparently hasn’t bothered to personally research anything about him. She came into this case looking for major publicity to spark her TimesUp career again. Best to keep Johnny dehumanized. Acknowledging in her own mind what she’s chosen to do to an innocent man, who’s already been through hell, doesn’t figure into her playbook. The ACLU, the largest civil liberties organization in the country, is backing her client, and celebrated attorney Pat Harris, with nothing pressing for the next seven months, is in the wings cheering her on. Why should Roberta Kaplan muster the backbone to search behind her client’s eyes and act on the poison that will confront her?

Because THAT would be a story with longevity, anchored in truth.
