Re: The Lawsuits Thread

They literally tried to blackmail him to drop the suit with pictures that they are suggesting are Johnny abusing drugs. Johnny knew and said NO to a protective order. He is going to live his truth whatever it is but includes he did not abuse her. I think the judge saw through this by not giving the ...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

I see several limine filings on the Rocky case. So now is the time each side tries to keep things out of court. Of course, Johnny wants his other cases, anything about AH, and any claims or rumors of alcohol/drug use/abuse kept out. This got me thinking of how all this started. We first heard about ...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

I agree. Reasonable doubt has no part For element two (2), “of and concerning the plaintiff,” an allegedly defamatory statement can be “of or concerning” the plaintiff even if the plaintiff is not identified by name. The element will be satisfied if the plaintiff shows that the statement was “intend...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

Now the ACLU wants in on Amber’s side as a friend of the court. https://theblast.com/c/johnny-depp-amber-heard-ACLU-lawsuit-defamation-trial Our sources say, Depp's team is actually considering adding the ACLU as a defendant in the case for its connection to the publishing. The organization and anyo...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

Johnny's team has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she defamed him intentionally in her op-ed piece and the result of her actions cost him work/money. ... Beyond a reasonable doubt is the key phrase. Not ALL doubt, just reasonable doubt. Thank you for this, I’m Not a lawyer either just so in...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

Curious as to why AquaTurd showed up in court today with Kaplan. Sounds like Adam Waldman was there along with Ben Chew. Hope they scared the living daylights out of Scamber since, sadly, they can't drop a house on her. :please: She was reportedly dressed in her usual court attire of white top/ bla...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

He stated in an interview he hurt his back in POTC. He was also injured by a horse in Lone Ranger They are following the same tactic tmg tried. Not just the defaming using his past but claiming drug and alcohol makes him violent (tmg claimed he cursed at them and verbally abused them) but taking it ...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

It has probably been said here before - but for somebody so, according to herself, at least, fierce and fiercely independent, and who claims to have such a strong case with evidence and eyewitnesses, plus also claiming that she stands up for all abused women everywhere, Ms Heard seems very, very re...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

Is a demurrer the same as a motion to dismiss? A demurrer is an objection to a complaint or counterclaim, not a motion to dismiss a case. ... A demurrer does not dispute the facts of the case but argues there is no legal claim even if the facts presented by the plaintiff are true. The demurrer is ei...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

Amber did not file a motion to dismiss the complaint. At least not yet. What she filed was a motion asking for permission to amend the first motion to dismiss. With this motion she filed a brief in support of her request. The media did not report it correctly. The judge can still deny her request i...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

I think this is great. Johnny basically saying put up or shut up. If Brooks doesn’t come up with concrete evidence in their answer, I think Johnny might file a formal judgement for dismissal Johnny's team was recently trying to get this case moved to a court that considered cases with a maximum val...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

Lots of subpoenas issued by Depp team and her side. Her side wants daily production reports from last Pirates and a few days of City of Lies corresponding to Rocky accusations I’m guessing they are looking for reasons for Disney to fire him other than her claims of DV or her defamation resulting in ...

Re: The Lawsuits Thread

I’m not a lawyer but I read that document as merely an agreement to file electronically instead of snail mail or in person to the court. And file motions between parties. They also will send interrogatories needing responses in Word to make responding easier. I think this is because so many are out ...
