fansmom - The short answer is that there is a good old fashioned doctor's shortage and not enough ORs eventhough the city I live in is a regional centre for hospitals and we even have teaching hospitals with the university being here too!? Cancer, heart, pediatrics are the specialties - it was the right place to be for my back surgery when I was a kid but not so right it seems for gall stones!? Thank goodness for books and movies - for books with movies - for movies about books - and for groups like this! I will see about ordering TCD in the morning - for now I'm off for a no fat bedtime snack of dry puffed wheat :eyebrow:

Great choice! I read this some years ago, along with a bunch of other books of Perez-Reverte. I really enjoy him. If anyone's into seagoing fare, I'd recommend The Nautical Chart.
