New to me, and I am so pleased to know that! He will always hold a special place in literature to me.

And as well as that, a delightful co-incidence, today is the birthday of my other absolute favourite in so many ways, Pete Doherty. Nice that a talent for language goes with the day.

29 yesterday!
Talent for language and a yearning for freedom. Anne Frank, who also had a literary talent and a great yearning for freedom, died on March 12, aged 15 in Auschwitz.

A significant day in history to be sure. It just so happens the OTR scroll is currently in Austin. I'm hoping to go and see it this weekend.

I thought the scroll was to be vaulted after December 31st 2007! So it's still out and about?? Would you happen to know where it's going next? And would you have happened to see it and/or take a picture of it?

I've been doing a research project on On the Road and Jack Kerouac, so both have become firmly embedded in my head, and I'm sure I've barely scratched the surface. With that in mind, I'm utterly stunned that Jack's birthday came and went and I didn't even notice. :-/

England and Ireland! The scroll is going to be traveling as much as Jack himself did. I don't think that man ever stopped for very long. Jack Kerouac's family moved about 20 times (if I recall correctly) when he was a kid. When I read that, I thought it was a bit interesting, considering the number of times Johnny's family moved when he was a kid.

Anyway . . .

Thanks much, for the schedule, DeppInTheHeartOfTexas. I appreciate it.

You're welcome! I wish we still had our entire ONBC discussion of On The Road in our archives. :-/

Wow! What a significant day March 12 was! I'm sorry I missed it, but I was visiting DITHOT, where we were OTR, Texas style.

We were in the middle of our OTR discussion when the Zone moved and became its current self. Thus a few questions are in the Archives, but not many, and no tidbits. :bawl: I really wish we had my original Beat Tour. And I don't have any of this on my computer because it crashed that Fall; and all was lost. :-/

You can't judge a book by its cover.

The only thing that matters is the ending. It's the most important part of the story.
