Welcome, Zone Divas, to April’s Monday Night Thread.
Let’s play a game.
It’s called the Alliteration* Game.
We’ve played it before—last April, in fact, with The Ginger Man. And we also played it during our discussions of Shantaram and Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. And tonight DITHOT & I thought it would be fun to play it with What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.
NOTE: IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT TO HAVE READ WHAT’S EATING GILBERT GRAPE TO PLAY THIS GAME.
GUIDELINES: Use at least 3 words beginning with the same consonant to describe the book, Peter Hedges, Gilbert, Arnie, Momma or any other characters in the book. YOU MAY ALSO DESCRIBE JOHNNY DEPP.
Examples of alliteration:
F&LILV: freaky, fearful and fun
The Ginger Man: Sebastian, a slithering, salacious swine swaggers soullessly
Shantaram: Karla...capricious, calculating, cold ,cruel and just plain cruddy
Johnny: Enthralled, enchanted and enraptured by entrancingly expressive eyes
Have fun with it, Noodlemantras!
*Alliteration: a poetic or literary effect achieved by using several words that begin with the same or similar consonants, as in “Whither wilt thou wander, wayfarer?”

I think one of our alliteration threads once went 8 days or more! I can't wait to see what your talented Noodlemantras come up with for this one!

Hi ladies,
I forgot the Monday night thread again. Lets see an
alliteration, how about?
Gilbert Grape is generous, good, gallant, and gorgeous.
