Cool. Thanks, Nebraska. That picture looks very familiar to me now. I must have read this story when I was a kid, but forgot it.

I know I read the story in this book when I was a kid (although 1936 is a little before my time ) but one of my earliest recollections of Sleepy Hollow was the Disney animated version. His Ichabod looked a little bit like this illustration, if I remember right. I haven't seen the cartoon version for years and years, it would be fun to watch it again.
Glad you enjoyed seeing the picture.

Nebraska, we will be discussing that very question about the character of Ichabod. I think you should watch Sleepy Hollow again...just so you can be ready for the question you know.

I remember my teacher playing that cartoon version in class one day when I was in the 1st or 2nd grade :)
That's one of the reasons I had wanted to see Sleepy Hollow when it first came out in theaters (before I knew who Johnny Depp was...lol)
But I still to this day have not seen Sleepy Hollow! Maybe for Halloween, huh? Who knows...

That's a really cool picture. Ichabod doesn't quite have the same look.

I'm sure I have seen some of the Sleepy Hollow cartoon if not all of it many years ago. I know when the Tim made his film and I read about it, it was not a story unknown to me even though I am British, because I had seen the cartoon.
But I was suprised it was being made in the UK such a very American story
