Regarding the church bells. I would say they are symbolic of the call of duty. They are always the same, always originate from the same place. Are they a contrast to the wind, which symbolizes freedom and the need to move on, which changes from day to day?
Yes, it’s a good interpretation, duty verses freedom, but the church bells are also a reminder of routine which has taken over from duty, ie people listen to the church bells without even hearing them, go to church out of habit rather than faith and need to be reminded that the voice of God can be heard just as readily in the sound of the wind as in the sound of the church bells
