HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Noodlemantras!

ONBC began its first discussion 15 years ago (Two Past Midnight to be exact) Halloween night. The first book was Secret Window, Secret Garden, a short story by Stephen King, also referred to as Two Past Midnight in his book of 4 short stories entitled Four Past Midnight.

Since then we’ve discussed more than 50 books and enjoyed more than 13 Q&As with authors and actors.

Thank you for all of your support and participation. We look forward to another year of insightful discussion with all of you in 2019.

Wow! 15 years and 50 books! I have been there for all of them. No wonder I can't remember the details of all those books, that's a lot! Some of my all time favorites are books I never would have picked up if not for ONBC and Johnny's influence. Congratulations to all who have participated over the years and thanks to Fireflydances and SnoopyDances for keeping ONBC alive! I have experienced how much work it is and I applaud you both.

Indeed...it's been quite a run. :hatsoff: The tidbits take a lot of work, as does responding to everyone's posts. :bouquet: So many have participated over the years with different points of view on the books...it's always interesting reading. So thanks to all, past and present, for being part of ONBC. I hope to catch up with the Devotion discussion this weekend.
I'll buy you the hat....a really big one.

ONBC Anniversary!

I admit to "joining" the book club late and missed many of the marvelous books covered. :ohno: However, if time allows, I would love to go back and read some the earlier selections. I've enjoyed going back through the archives and reading the tidbits, discussions, and responses. :agree2:

I'm glad I finally read Shantaram, though it was an undertaking! And I was one of the few that enjoyed Mountain Shadow. I thought it was a fitting continuation of the first book with, perhaps, too "Hollywood" of an ending.

And the interviews with the authors have been wonderful! How kind of them to give their time and participate with our group. :airkiss: I especially enjoyed Ann Crispin's :heart2: participation with The Price of Freedom. I not only enjoyed that book immensely, but I want to read her other books, too. :noodlemantra:

Agatha Christie was another marvelous author and person. I've long watched the movies and TV shows, but never really read her books or knew much about her magnificent life. I look forward to delving deeper into her world, as well. Ultimately, I would love to see the cast of MOTOE reunite for Death on the Nile. :hope:

However, I was a bit disappointed :no2: with Daniell Depp's books and have yet to read Babylon Nights as a result. I'll get around to it someday, but I'm not as enamored with his protagonist as others in the discussions were. :perplexed3:

Many thanks to ONBC and all of it moderators and contributors :bouquet: for opening my mind to the wonderful world of books! :reader:
