Assuming you’ve been looking forward to the movie, what’s driven your enthusiasm? Would you be as likely to see this movie if Johnny Depp was not in it?

Most definitely! This is my favourite kind of movie: a whodunnit, an awesome cast, the elegance of the era, the scenic grand scale, not to mention the added gift of Johnny! What more can one ask for? :grin2:

I love period movies with authentic costumes, and movies with more talk than explosions, so yes, I would .

I've looked forward to this movie for some time, with or without Johnny.
A stellar cast like this can't be beat! :soda:

I don't go to the cinema very often, usually only when Johnny has a new movie out with only a few exceptions. So I probably wouldn't be going to see it if not for Johnny.

Johnny's participation was a big factor for me. I love going to the movies, and there are at least 4 indie movie theaters within an hour's drive here. We are still too busy with other things to take the advantage we should. Incidentally, I brought me 22 year old with me. She was a stalwart Jack Sparrow fan, but both she and her older sister cast a wary eye at mom and her obsession with the Depp. Sigh.

BUT, wonders of wonders. Hannah was much impressed by the movie -- and that hasn't happened since Rango. Both of us are wild fans of Potter so it will be interesting to see Fantastic Beasts with her. (And yes, both daughters are independently aware of Johnny's problems of late. We haven't really discussed, as I know they would tell me I am "just a fan" and what do fans know. It bothers me that they see chinks in Depp. )
