What did you think of the original cast members cameos in the movie?

I missed them -- and wouldn't have known they would be there if not for the book. I am surprised how many people say they still recognize the original cast after all these years.

I knew when to look for them, so I caught the too-short cameos. A friend who went with me said after the movie that she had read there would be the cameos, but she missed them. I wish there had been a bit more...maybe an exchange of words.

I thought giving them the opportunity was a great idea and a definite tip of the hat by Tim. I would have recognized Jonathan but probably not the others if I had not knows to watch for them. I agree, Theresa. I wish there had been more of an exchange. I'm still very thrilled for them they were able to have the experience. From Kathryn's description it sounded like they had a great time and made the most of it!

I loved the cameos of the four original cast and of Jerry's, too. As Jonathan's last appearance on film, it was perfect, like the passing of the cane.

I still haven't seen Jerry..... saw the film only the two times in St. Louis, so I am sure there is still a lot for me to discover. DITHOT, I agree that the cast from the original series had a wonderful time and were very honored to be part of the new film no matter how small their parts. Jonathan's age and failing health may have made the experience less fun for him.

I was disappointed that it was so quick that if you blinked, you'd miss it. And one of the people I went with (my friend's sister) missed it because she didn't know to look for it. She was a HUGE DS fan back in the day, and I wish that my friend would have informed her to look for it as my friend also read Kathryn's book and thus knew of the cameos in advance. If I had known she wasn't going to tell her, I would have.

I just wish JF could have seen the finished product! And yes, if you didn't know when to watch for them, you would miss it. I wish it had been longer. As to Jerry, I've only seen it once, missed him

I haven't seen the movie yet; but from what I have read is they not only had the cameo where they came through the door but were shown mingling in the crowd at the ball on several occasions.

The cameos were way too short. I was hoping for more of an exchange. I saw the first appearance the first time I saw the movie, but completely missed the second snippet. I finally saw that about the second or third time through. I haven't seen Jerry, will wait for the DVD. I was wondering if Patti Smith made a cameo, too. Didn't she visit Johnny on the set? I thought it was about the same time that Alice was visiting, so I was looking for her at the ball, too.

No Patti did not visit Johnny on the set of DS, But she did visit him on the Set of TRD in Puerto Rico

I totally missed Jerry. Didn't know I was supposed to look for him.
