I'll take advantage (pirate!) of the rules vs guidelines issue and
list my five favorite looks (again!) only in real life this time:
1. the blue bandana look as pictured in Rolling Stone mag ~ with the holy (as in sacred) t-shirt, jeans and accessories.
2. the fedora and glasses look a la my avatar.
3. the backward beret look a la Tokyo TV interview with the kids.
4. the black embroidered jacket look a la Letterman.
5. the tan Caribbean look ~ you know the one I mean!

You are a sneaky pirate, there, Parlez. You found a way around the rules. And I do know what you mean about that tan. :thud:

I'm enjoying everyone's answers, but I can't begin to answer this question. If my life depended on it, I'd still be saying, "No, but wait, what about 'Savvy?' What about Gilbert Grape? What about--"

That said, I would like a poster (although, alas, I don't believe one exists) of the final shot of CJS with his sword raised with the Kraken at the end of POTC2. New favorite look. My hero.

Now on to my favorite look:
1. Johnny's most recent look:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/johrli3/12c.jpg

with the fedora, ripped jeans and beloved trinkets....this does it for me.

2. The half Jack Half Johnny look in Redondo Beach recently:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/johrli3/29aug4.jpg

Just having both men in one soul drops my jaw....

3. The recent Letterman appearance, especially when he took off the black jacket and had on the white sweaty t shirt while signing autographs afterwards.

4. The Mort look(which used to be my number one) with the bed head and blond locks

5. Sands..the all black....those pants..the hair....

That is a good look, Fansmom.

And Johnnybloom, so is the half-Jack/half-Johnny.

The Letterman look seems to be quite popular.

And I still need to put my list together. Hmmmm.

I am still struggling with the book list....
I am in the process of reading three..YES three of the books Johnny has read that are listed in the ONBC...
I am reading
Inamorata....Shantaram and the Saroyan reader..all at the same time....
so my book list will have to wait....

I have enjoyed On the Road about a million times(oh ok...6 times...) and finsihed A Long Way Down last month..but oh to sort them into a list...
I'll be back later to do that

What a great idea to bring back the "list" topic. I love making lists! :bounce:

Favorite Johnny Lines

(It was too difficult for me to narrow my favorite Johnny lines down to just five (I think the closest I came to was 25! :yikes:), so here are the movies of his that have some of my favorite lines of his in them:

1. POTC (most of my favorite Johnny lines are from these films)
2. CATCF (I find myself quoting this movie more than any other Johnny film)
3. Cry-Baby (hilarious dialogue )
4. Ed Wood (this film has some great one-liners!)
5. The Libertine (some of the most beautiful dialogue I have ever heard Johnny speak in a film...almost every line has a poetic quality to it).

Favorite Johnny Looks

1. 1999 Sleepy Hollow promotion look (LOVE the hair! :flashingheart:)
2. 1992/1993 “Sam” look (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and Benny & Joon are some of the first Johnny films I had ever seen, so this look will always be special to me ).
3. Current look (Nice tan, he has never looked happier…and if/when he cuts his hair, I’ll cry! :bawl:)
4. Toronto 2005 look (loved the hair, glasses (:fear:), outfits, body…everything!)
5. Mort look (because it was the way Johnny looked like when I saw him on TV for the first time in 2003 :twohearts:)

Favorite Johnny Roles

(I cheated quite a bit on this one, but I just couldn’t narrow it down to 5!)
1. Captain Jack Sparrow (favorite movie character of all-time)
2. Gilbert Grape (WEGG was the first Johnny movie I ever saw, so I'll always have a soft spot for Gilbert).
3. Sam (funny, sweet and adorable)
4. John Wilmot (IMO, this is Johnny's best performance, and it should have him an Oscar).
5. All of his Tim Burton roles (Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Ichabod Crane, Willy Wonka) (Johnny + Tim Burton=magic)

Favorite Johnny Books

1. A Long Way Down (enjoyed the characters and the humor)
2. Shantaram (great story and characterization)
3. Sweeney Todd (haven't read the play yet, but have been doing a lot of background research on ST and have found it all to be very :interesting:).
4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (favorite book as a kid)
(don’t have a 5th choice)

Favorite Johnny Accessories

1. Children’s Hospice bracelet (I bought one too and wear it everyday)
2. Lily-Rose's heart-bead bracelet/Jack's cloth bracelet (so cute that he wears these! :cloud9:)
3. Skull rings (have been trying to find some similar to his)
4. Belt-loop beads (I like to see all of the various trinkets he collects)
5. Tattoos (don't know if these count or not, but I think they look great on him!)

Five favorite looks, eh. So many leave me undone… but here goes. First off, he has never looked better than the way he looks right now, because, like Gilbert, he shimmers and he glows.
