Thanks FAN! Definitely something to look forward to, and I agree ~ the title does sound like something Johnny could have written.

Thanks, FAN for the heads up. I wonder if this is the 3rd volume of letters.

Thanks, FAN, for alerting us to this. I'm looking forward to reading it. The title sounds very familiar. I don't know why I feel like I heard about it before.

Agreed, Joni. Of all Hunter's books I have enjoyed the collections of his letters the most.

I'm not sure, but given the period it covers, and the fact that a period is given, it seems possible... but ...the Gonzo Papers Anthology is coming out in October 2009 which appears to be Vols 1, 2, 3, and 4 all within one cover. It will be a paperback, 1248 pages. Overlap? Edit: I'm thinking this probably doesn't have anything to do with what Johnny bought because it was originally slated to come out in February and has been in the works for a long time. It takes years to select and edit that kind of material, and my understanding is that what Johnny bought is about 800 boxes of stuff in no particular order. It's likely to be a long time before we see any of that.

Have we seen Douglas Brinkley's name attached to it at all?

This has been floating around for some time. According to my Amazon Wish List, I added this title back in Sept. '07. Johnny's name was attached to it back then as well, for writing the introduction. I think publication dates have been pushed back over time. Glad to see some movement on it, thanks FAN.
I also saw that the Gonzo Papers Anthology is to be released. Not sure about the wisdom of both coming out in the same month. If Hunter fans already have these 4 volumes separately, not sure they'd buy them again all in one book. That's a lot of pages.
DITHOT, I haven't seen DB's name attached to either project yet.

Thanks for the extra info, KYwoman. I guess we will have to see what develops over the next several months.
