dingbat used to be quite a common term for someone who is a bit, well, dingy... Maybe it was more common back in the 70's? srt, Archie did call Edith a dingbat. I still use it myself but that probably dates me. :eyebrow:

kristen, the transluscent soap is actually a brand called Neutorgena. Johnny said that when he was staying with Hunter he went digging through all the boxes containing relics from his Vegas trip. That is where they found the clothes, hat, etc. including all the bars of soap!

I'm not sure why this is funny to me...but I like it.

...and by the time they'd sent off the first hundred (with still another hundred to go), our visibility was down to something like fifty feet. We could see as far as the hay-bales at the end of the pits...
Beyond that point the incredible dustcloud that would hang over this part of the desert for the next two days was already formed up solid. None of us realized, at the time, that this was the last we would see of the "Fabulous Mint 400" --

Dingbat: according to my (UK) dictionary it's US slang for a person or thing whose name you have forgotten, ora foolish person, or tramp. Derivation is from Ding:"To hit or hammer" (scottish) and Bat: "Club shaped stick" (US)
