I am currently reading a book called The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, its a book that takes place all over Europe but at the moment the chapter I am on takes place in Oxford and there is a Rochester reference in it. The heroine of the story is having a tour round a college unnamed but presumable Wadham where she is shown a bench that Rochester carved something rude on.It rather suprised me to come across it the story is about Vampires if anyone wants to know.

We are going to get you to read this book yet.

The only thing that matters is the ending. It's the most important part of the story.

Oh, well -I didn't really care for that book the first time I read it, and I was resisting a re-read, being tempted by the ONBC discussion. I'm afraid I may be roped in as well. I'm just starting the 3rd book of the Bartimaeus Trilogy, and I love it. I could so see Johnny doing Bartimaeus!
