Noodlemantras, we have an announcement.

Based on the feedback we received from you, we have decided to do both M Train and Mountain Shadow.

We will start off the new year with M Train by Patti Smith, and then follow that discussion with Gregory David Roberts’s Mountain Shadow in late spring. That should give everyone enough time to read both Shantaram (if you haven’t already) and Mountain Shadow.

We’re looking forward to both discussions. Hope you will join us.

M Train looks good and I enjoyed the other book by her but this one is expensive in whatever version it comes in :-/

You're right GG...but it's such a beautiful book...outside and inside. It is worth to buy...and to read it of course...I've already started. Love it.
Thank you so much Lizbaba and Fireflybaba for making this wonderful compromise. :smiliewithhearts:

Gilbert's Girl:

I always buy my books "used" and that can just mean that some distributor bought too many and they want to unload some. So instead of paying $25.00 I am paying $13.00, roughly half. Amazon UK has similar options -- I saw one for 6.46 pounds sterling plus delivery at 2.80.

Never was disappointed with used books from Amazon dealers. Used to sell used books myself. Particularly a good deal with new books like M Train. Good luck, hope you find a good deal. :heartflower:

I'll look to see but was hoping to get it on kindle like her other book, but maybe this time I might have to get the real thing

It seems priced normally on my Amazon (hardback and Kindle). But that's not Amazon UK. I actually had not looked into the price because I am going to see her at a book signing. So it's more expensive and I get my book signed.

Since it has been so long since I read Shantaram I thought it might be good to read it again, but I wasn't sure I wanted to dig out that big old book again. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could order the ebook at a reduced price because I bought the original "real" book from Amazon.com. :applause2:
