DS Question #3 - Favorite Memories?

Unread postby DeppInTheHeartOfTexas » Wed Jun 20, 2012 10:15 am

If you watched the Dark Shadows TV series, what were your favorite memories of the show?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -
Wow! What a ride!

Quentin's many personas were very interesting. He started out as a ghost; became a werewolf; became immortal and on and on. The same thing happened with other characters and the fans lapped it all up even if it was all totally illogical. :spin:
I have nothing to do and all day to do it in.

I would have bet money that I had a memory of Barnabas' fangs slipping off one time but it wasn't anywhere in the bloopers!

Boy, you guys are good at remembering specifics! :ok: I only have memories of how things looked. I have a very clear memory of the entry way and stairs. For some reason, that visual always comes to mind when I think of DS. I also see Josette’s and Angelique’s faces and hair. And usually I picture them on a staircase (must be the one I remember with or without people on it) with Barnabas (one at a time with Barnabas, not all together).
You can't judge a book by its cover.

The only thing that matters is the ending. It's the most important part of the story.

That's a heck of a lot more detail than I remember. I watched it every day, but what I remember is running home, sitting about 12 inches from the TV screen (which was a big console TV in a cabinet, so it was nearly on the floor), and not letting anyone talk while the program was on. But I can't remember anything specific about the show itself.

Well I watched it on reruns in the 90s, so in a sense I cheated.

:biglaugh: We were about 6-8 at that time, maybe...

I will always remember Angeliques eyes. :-O
Those eyes would just pierce through the soul....so big, so expressive. I'll never forget those eyes! :freaked:

And the water crashing on the rocks. That was one of my favorite bits. I loved the beginning with the waves crashing, then the words Dark Shadows appearing on the screen, with that eerie music. I was glad Tim kept that in the movie for every scene change. :applause2:

Oh yes, SnoopyDances, I forgot about the waves crashing - but I think that is a memory that came back when I saw the video of the theme song.

And Angelique's eyes, for sure, and Josette's teeth. Sorry, Kathryn. You may be sensitive to that, but I wanted teeth like that.
