Thank you Theresa. Always good to know as much as possible about the organization we're working with.

What an excellent choice! I couldn't understand how there could be anything so horrendous as the Bennett Freeze  ......had to Google it. Found scenes that were so reminiscent of The Brave. Incredibly sad! So terrific that Sean Wycliffe took an interest, founded Project Pueblo......and now we can help!!! Thanks so much for finding this! :bouquet:

:thanks!: Theresa, what an amazing man Sean Wycliffe is, and to do so much at such a young age. I'm glad his vision has blossomed so much and now it's doing so much good. Also plaudits to President Obama for repealing Bennetts Freeze.

I am totally gobsmacked over what has been going on in my own state without my knowledge. I, too, did some research and watched the LA Times film and I, like Betty Sue, found they triggered memories of The Brave while watching it.

My question is how this was allowed to continue for so long with no one paying attention. How can we, as Americans, allow this kind of poverty to endure unchecked and up til now, unoticed? Why did they stay there? Were they not permitted to live on other tribal grounds? Why was there no action taken by the Navajo nation on behalf of these people? None of it makes the least bit of sense to me.

Whatever the reasons are for the existance of this horrific situation, I think this is an ideal choice for the Birthday project. I can only hope Johnny will agree (though I'm sure he will) and, as he has done in the past, match or better the funds we raise.

Well done ladies, well done!
