Same article reported in The Sun newspaper.

Article by Nick Pisa. 2nd January 2019
MOVIE star Johnny Depp stunned a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary by downing champagne with them on Eurostar.

Electrician David King, 30, and wife Roxanne, 27, were on the way back from Paris when the Pirates of the Caribbean star joined them in the business class carriage.

Depp, 55, who was recently dumped from his legendary Jack Sparrow role by film bosses, toasted the couple and chatted to them as he returned from a visit to a Paris children's hospital.

Roxanne said:'We couldn't believe it when he walked into the carriage with his security guard. We did a double take and David whispered to me 'I think that's Johnny Depp' and I said 'Yes, it is'.

"We sat there for twenty minutes in silence then my husband went 'Alright Johnny' and the conversation started.

"He told us he'd only just made the train as he had left his passport behind and got there with three minutes to spare. We told him it was our first wedding anniversary and he got some champagne and insisted on joining us for a drink with his bodyguard.

"The two hours flew by and he talked about how he had been at a hospital in Paris and he asked about our daughter. It was quite a shock to be chewing the fat with a big movie star like that and he even rolled a cigarette but said he would wait until he got off at Ashford.

"Before he got off he signed our champagne bottle box and wished us a happy anniversary and a happy new year.

"He even gave me a hug and posed for pictures. It was a perfect end to the anniversary celebration."

Lovely pictures thanks for posting - such a sweetie. Imagine getting on the Eurostar and him being there. Loads of VIPs use it,and I've been back and forth to Paris dozens of times for work, in business - never seen anyone interesting!

I am so curious as to where he was going to spend new year - he got off at Ashford which is in Kent (for those of you not from the UK) - so didn't go into London. Lots of celebs have big country houses in Kent and Sussex including Paul McCartney, Keith Richards - possibly also Tim Burton. I am being nosy now. So lovely that he spent Christmas in Paris with his family.

Yes, Ade, these are lovely pics. Re: Who/what might be Johnny’s destination, I’ve read some suggestion that Ralph Steadman - who lives in/near Kent - may perhaps be on the list. Seems like a good bet, given their friendship. Johnny sure seems to have a reason behind all of his stops this holiday season.

How lucky was that?!! :-O
Who would expect to see him on the Eurostar? !!
Just imagine sitting down and Johnny sitting opposite you!! :thud:
I’m surprised he wasn’t surrounded by people!
How great for that couple on their anniversary! :heart2:

:thankyou:

You know, treasurechest, I was quite surprised by that, too. But, thinking about it, Johnny & friends seemed to be getting along like a little group that knew each other and were having a really special time together. Ha! Perhaps it was more intimidating for others to consider interrupting four people all having a nice, “private” trip than to approach Johnny when just accompanied by his bodyguard. :heart3:

The way the seating is laid out is kind of like an old fashioned train, there are blocks of four seats an aisle and then single seats facing each other. From the photos I've seen, Stephen was with Johnny - and from an earlier picture Gina must have been there in Paris with them as well so likely on the train. Then plus one body guard - I guess they would have sat in the four and the lucky couple in the seats across the aisle. If you weren't sitting in that six - you probably wouldn't have been aware of what was going on - and VIPs tend to get seated in the quiet ends of carriages. Imagine if you'd been on the train and NOT been part of it - how maddening!

So do we all, one day at the time. But it still beats the alternative; namely dying young, in my opinion :)

Johnny has been through a lot of grief, stress, and general upheaval the last couple of years. It is bound to take a toll. He is maintaining remarkably well for all he has been through.

That too, yes :airkiss2:
But older or not, he is still so very sweet to people - even when he doesn't has to be  And also manage to look so heart-stopping adorable and cute at times, when he's relaxed and comfortable - in my old (ancient) biased eyes :truefan:
