Thanks for posting the review. It was really interesting to read. I thought the same thing when I saw the title but then as you watch it you realize how powerful the movie really is and how wonderfully Johnny and Leo play off of each other. It is just a great movie.

This reminds me of when Catcher in The Rye when they pulled that book for the mere suggestion of sex. In the book Holden spends the night in a hotel with a prostitute but NOTHING happens but the mere suggestion of sex got it pulled. :-? This all seems a very 'Victorian' attitude :-/ Yes, Aren't we ...

I just ordered it from Amazon! Been meaning to for a long time and this article was the best reason to finally go ahead and get it. I will certainly have my now 13-year-old read it as soon as his English is good enough. He liked the film! Most 12+ Playstation games or cartoons have more mentally de...

I think it is that he feels that society is killing him because he can't be free to do what he wants. It is about death and I think it is death of freedom for Sebastien.

I think that there were some good points to the book and some bad points mostly Sebastien's behavior but the book had its moments so I would agree partially with Banville's statement.

I read the Cather in The Rye in high school. It's a great book. I think everyone can identify with what Holden goes through much better than in GM. His situation is a typical one. It's not easy going through high school and adolescence at the same time, but we can't identify with a jerk like Sebast...

I have to confess that I skipped through a lot so I could turn it on time to my school's library however there was so much death during WWII that it had everything to do with survivor guilt especially from Sebastien.

That is the most creepy picture but appearances can be deceiving. We've been talking about that in my literature class because we are reading Macbeth. There is a huge discretion between appearance and reality but that's in all Shakespeare plays especially the tragedies.JD wouldn't be friends with h...
