The whole memorial last year and the remembering of that this year I have missed. I have other issues to deal with on August 20. I started reading this thread and starting with watching Theresa's beautiful clip and then read and was impressed by everything that is written and that howling is a great...

Thanks Liz and DITHOT for arranging this Q&A with Joanne Harris.
It was great to read the authors vision to the book and his characters.
I do hope that JH will write about Vianne again.

Ok, I'm curious. What's a heat wave for you? The temperature here is 96 F, but it feels like 104 because of the humidity. That's 36 and 40 in Celcius. Glad the air conditioning is working! It's 96 here right now, too--but not humid--thank goodness. I would also like to know what a heatwave is for I...

Just see that my earlier post is eaten by the board. I like Guillaume a lot, he is so friendly. I think he fears being alone and that is a reason why he can't let his dog go. He can let his dog go when he realise that he have good friends. He is very loyal to his friends. I think that through the bo...

You just have to love and admire Armande for being such a free spirit. At least I did. She is going her own way in everything, making some people not like her very much, but she stays true to herself. She can't stand it if other people, like her daughter, try to control her. she goes straight in doi...

I think she can't read him because he hides his thoughts. He showed himself as a Priest, but that is not really him therefor Vianne gets no vibes to read him. The only thing she gets is negativity and she makes a gesture against that with her fingers.

So now back to see what is already said.

He is a complicated character. He is scared of anything that he doesn’t know and what he don’t know he judge as bad. He is full of fear of what might happen and because of that he wants everything to stay as it is. He wants control over the people in the village (his sheep) and most of all he wants ...

I think one of the themes is that people who are different to you are not bad. Don't judge people too easy because of being different than you. Tolerance is something that comes to my mind also as a theme. Religion is also something in the theme, but I can't find the right words for what I mean, may...

To read this at the end of of a difficult day ( but still a good day), brought tears to my eyes. Not because Johnny knows about the project (nice, but not real important), but that with this project we help other parents and children have it a little easier at hard times. Thanks PTP for giving this ...
