Re: Daniel Depp Q&A – Part 4 – Spandau’s Future

I don't see his answer as being funny - just proactive. Too many people try to get him to talk about his brother in a round about way. He wasn't "going to bite" and allow a discussion about his work, get sidelined by a fan club for his brother, the actor.

Re: Black Mass Question #21 - Final Thoughts

I haven't played any active role here but my husband and I have been reading what's being posted. We didn't know any thing about Whitey before his arrest and didn't really care -just another crook. We got interested because of Johnny's movie. My DH loved his Dillinger. I don't believe this will be a...

Re: Lost Honor of Katharina Blum Question #6: Who Has The Right?

I don't know if I'm reading correctly, but I truly hope you don’t think I was in any way being critical about your personal choices or that I find them odd, because I don’t. Quite the opposite - I admire the care with which you are making your life decisions. In fact it sounds like you and I have v...

Re: Lost Honor of Katharina Blum Question #6: Who Has The Right?

I guess I can’t agree with a double standard for public figures vs. the rest of us. Why should those who are famous be held to different rules? I think any and all criminal activity (bribery, extortion, sexual harassment, embezzlement, corruption, etc.) should always be scrutinized and investigated...

Re: Lost Honor of Katharina Blum Question #6: Who Has The Right?

Technology has removed any simple expected right to privacy that we had when it put cameras on every phone. People have lost respect for our personal space. Social media has convinced people that posting where you are, photos of your kiddies and yourself -your home -your new car and so on is fine an...

Re: Just Kids Tidbit #31 - Robert Mapplethorpe's Art

I accidentally removed a post. No way to restore it, Maggy. Thanks for clarifying why it was removed. I simply wanted to add that what we see and how we feel about things are our personal opinions, we don't all see images of gay sex as beautiful, with art, or literature, our feelings and emotions a...

Re: Life After Death Question #24: Damien's Future Path

fireflydances you just read my mind. And you used much better words than I could have. I think Damien could kill two birds with one stone, by being an advocate for prison reform and better public defenders he could make a difference in the world. And I think he could earn a nice living for him and L...

Me too. I was afraid to disagree. I thought it started to be a gimmick and for me it was distracting and tacky. :fear:

Re: Life After Death Question #10 - Memories

Damien seemed to cherish the good memories and going on what he wrote, he used them to his benefit, to help calm his mind and his soul. I think he also used the bad memories, from his child hood especially to try to come to grips with his past and use them. Like being afraid of being a father, he di...

I can't really relate to liking Hershey's Kisses. They aren't my favorite Christmas candy. I much prefer Dove Chocolates. Here are some Christmas Hershey Kisses: http://www.hersheys.com/kisses.aspx We didn't have Dove chocolates back then, when we were little kids we hung up stockings, ...

Re: Life After Death Question #9 - What is to give light must endure burning

It reminds me of the old saying "what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger." I think it's about surviving and finding the beauty and strength in God's world. I think to me, it's about getting through things that we never thought we could do.
