CITY OF LIES (LAbyrinth) Updates

justintime, many, many thanks! And the clip offers great insight into Johnny's character, much more than we could see before. Even with the language challenge, I see a frustrated man trying to hold his anger while he remains convinced that he is pursuing something important. I found myself really fo...

The Lawsuits Thread

As far as I have heard Jerry has problems with his back, and even had to have an operation or is due to have one. So no, he's not suing his favourite charge - Johnny, I mean  Thanks meeps! Guess it's a good/bad thing. Sorry Jerry has back problems; glad he's still somewhat attached to JD. Alw...

The Lawsuits Thread

Nothing to do with Jerry. If I remember correctly... These guys were fired some time back and were suing for unfair termination, citing JD’s drug use and claiming that they were basically Jack’s babysitters...or something, calling Johnny an absentee parent...blah,blah. They weren’t with his team lo...

I don't follow this stuff that carefully. Puts me in a bad mood. In any case, does anyone know "who" the bodyguards in question are? I have noticed that we don't see Jerry any more. I hope it has nothing to do with him.

Johnny to spend Christmas in Paris?

I agree! If true, I commend her kind gesture. Nothing like being with family for Christmas.

Pirates 6 with new Jack or no Jack?

^^^That's true, but I hate to think of Johnny without Captain Jack in his pocket. Since Disney owns the character, he won't be able to do his hospital visits, or even quote the script like the vid in the morning thread. And I want him to get the Pearl back and sail away. That's a truly terrible tho...

Pirates 6 with new Jack or no Jack?

I would prefer he didn't. I absolutely love Capt Jack. That first Jack was so incredible because basically Johnny was in control. A character spun out of his own imagination. So perfect, explosive, anti-establishment, flying in the face of everything. But I don't think he has that freedom with this ...

CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers)

Saw the movie in the midst of a terrible rain storm. Frankly I was surprised there was anyone in the theater, but shockingly I almost didn't get a decent seat. So, it is retaining its popularity. It was a wonderful film and I definitely want to see it again, this time in 3-D. Love the story line and...

ONBC Next Book Suggestions

In addition to the books mentioned here, I recall seeing him holding a book about the beginnings of the human race. Can't remember the title for anything. This would have been in the last year or perhaps two? I will see if I can track it down as another option. Anyone here know what book I have in ...

:girlwave2: I know that I'm not often attending but I'm sneaking in here and there. I only want to add that I'm very looking forward to the ' Snow Moon ' I was fascinated by reading the Cinderella's Chronicles' , back than. Just saying. :heartflower: It's always nice to see you here, mari...

Devotion ~ Question #9 - Wrapping up

I missed Patti's wider take on things, a la M Train in particular, this time out. And although I enjoyed Devotion, and more so because of the process of researching the tidbits, its more abstract focus, devotion to the creative process, felt limited to me, too quick and not enough plumbing of the de...

Devotion ~ Question #8 Mourning

Yeah, writers mourn their characters, even if they don't downright kill them off. There is always this desire to find some form of redemption for one's characters. But, for the most part, good stories require that writers be prepared to make their characters suffer, if not downright die. There's an ...

Devotion: Question #6: Character

Yes, he was a user. Although I think he was utterly blind to the way he treated her. Clueless. The thing is I eventually decided that both of them were to some degree obsessed -- he by his possessions and she with her skating--- and that these obsessions could be seen as the far side of devotion. I ...

So, what do you think Patti was trying to say with this short story? Also, still looking for more feedback on our two characters.
