Johnny presents his favourite movies at Glastonbury, June 22 (Videos added)

Well said ffd. The area for opinions are getting smaller and must be chosen carefully. Keep the Zone pure. Just my thought.

Pics--POTC5 Los Angeles Red Carpet

First of all a big thank you for all the pics. They are wonderful and Johnny looks so handsome. Good to see him back out in public. Loved the inner-action with his fans. Secondly - it might be just me looking for too much - but it seems as though he was much more relaxed, smiley and happy during the...

Re: Johnny Depp, Amber Heard Divorce Settled

I too am an "old timer" here on the zone and agree with shook that we all support Johnny and be steadfast in our support. I have been gone from the zone too long and am glad to be back to add my hope that he will find the kindness and greetings from his fans helpful. You JD have brought mu...

Re: NORA GUTHRIE INTERVIEW - Part 2

Enjoying the interview very much. I was struck by the reference to the tempo of the book being a cultural and regional thing. I never thought about that - but totally agree with her and thank her for bringing it to our attention. Makes me enjoy and understand the book even more.

Re: House of Earth Question #30: A Radical Book

Thanks FAN for showing me the final verses of This Land. I did think it was a song of celebration. When singing this song in school I don't remember singing the last verses. "Hammer" is a good word on the message. During the time (long ago) when I was in school we seemed to ignore the cont...

Re: House of Earth Question #30: A Radical Book

I think racey is a better description than radical. Woody's music might have been seen as radical in his lifetime. But when hearing his song "This land is mine land" I failed to see the radical message it maybe was saying. Perhaps I was blind to his real message. Too wrapped up in my own w...

Re: House of Earth Question #31 - Final Question

The tidbits and discussions were more informitive of the dust bowl era than I think the actual book was. It did reveal how a young couple dealt with the hardships of the time. It left me with an incomplete feeling of how it all worked out for Tike and Ella May. Maybe it was suppose to. As far as Woo...

Re: House of Earth Question #29 - Takeaways

I must admit, the book did not impress me when I read it. But after the tidbits and our discussion, my feelings are different. I connected with the characters and their plight and could understand more of what they were going through. Still not one of my favorite reads. I like a story with a beginin...

Re: House of Earth Question #27 - The Point

I think that Woody wanted to get the story of his youth and the people of the dust bowl era. Wanted to show the hardships they faced daily while other parts of the country had no idea about it. He was successful in telling the story of the people - but why didn't he publish the book after he was suc...
