Re: Life After Death by Damien Echols? - You Decide

Peachy, I echo your words. I feel the same and I think Damien has succeeded in his efforts to write a beautiful book, for while there are horrors, he sees the world in such a poetic way, there is beauty behind the horrors. I too am in awe with every turn of the page and I recommend the book as a rea...

Re: Johnny Question #3 ~ Collaborations

I think I read somewhere that it was actually Karo syrup dyed orange. Orange because it showed the right color on screen. Hope I'm not too far off topic at this point. You ladies are making me look forward to seeing ST!! I think I read that too. You will have to see it and tell us what you think.

Re: Johnny Question #3 ~ Collaborations

I also loved Sleepy Hollow. In fact, it's my favorite of Johnny's movies. I loved their "take" on the material from the first time I watched it, and really enjoyed Johnny's performance as Ichabod. I have not yet seen Sweeney Todd. I was pleasantly surprised by CATCF when I finally saw it ...

Re: Johnny Question #3 ~ Collaborations

Sweeney. Primarily because both Tim and Johnny leapt so far outside their comfort zones and pulled it off with flying colors. As a singer, I wholly appreciated the difficult challenge of attacking Sondheim. Not only for the singers, who were mostly untrained, but for a director. His work is not easi...

Re: Johnny Question #2 - Favorite Passage

Yes, I did weigh in on Johnny's style, which I feel to be a good deal Hunter and a little Kerouac, but then, quite a bit Johnny. As far as a favorite passage. I love how he describes Tim. "A pale, frail-looking, sad-eyed man with hair that expressed much more than last night's pillow struggle. ...

Re: Johnny Question #1 ~ Influences

I feel Hunter's influence in the strong, direct, aggressive tone of his writing. I also feel Kerouac's influence in the train of thought style in which he expresses himself. He is no doubt, influenced by other writers, as we all are when we write, but what I love about his writing is that it is the ...

Re: Jack Kerouac Question #6 ~ You Ask the Question

I can't really think of a question, per se. I'd more just like to bring up a topic, like spirituality, and then let him run with it.
