Re: Ann Crispin

This is incredibly sad news. She has battled cancer for some time now and I had hoped she would win. As an aspiring writer, I truly appreciated how accessible Ann made herself to others and over the past few years I have learned much from her. Peace be with you, Ann.

Re: House of Earth Tidbit #16: Will Rogers, Radio and the Rise of Country Music

Firefly, your tidbit was excellent!! Last April, I was in Nashville and paid my first visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I first learned most of what you wrote about during that visit. While I initially was not a big fan of country music, that experience left me with a whole new understanding ...

Thank you Chocolat, for that excellent explanation. I basically understood it, but your explanation is all-the-more helpful.

Re: Life After Death Question #3: Who Belongs in Prison?

This question is a really slippery slope...one that our judicial system has struggled with for years. I agree with Snowcat in that there are people out there who are pure evil, with no registerable conscience. And society does need to be protected from those individuals. They will not change....they...

Re: Life After Death: Question #2 America Has Changed

Thank you Snowcat for that lovely story. How beautiful of you to support your friend in that way. It also is a perfect example of why we simply cannot judge others. We must walk in their shoes and look closely at their hearts instead of grabbing on to surface impressions. We can learn so much by sim...

Re: Life After Death: Question #2 America Has Changed

I have been reading this post with great interest. Thank you to all for your wonderful...and diverse....comments and opinions. But Fern's comments have inspired me to chime in because I can put a bit of a different twist to this conversation. I understand what Fern is speaking of about the Christian...

However, despite that fact, I have often enjoyed the tidbits that preceed each discussion. I can appreciate all the...

Re: Q & A with A. C. Crispin #8

This does not surprise me as continuity is critical to Disney. At the Disney parks, they take great pains to make sure some kid doesn't see Mickey Mouse...or any character for that matter....in duplicate places that would be illogical. You'd think most people wouldn't bother to notice, or put two-an...

Re: Q&A with A.C. Crispin - #3

Alas, I have noticed and lamented this omission. Just once, I'd like to see Jack engage in some "true pirating". I get that these are Disney films and family oriented and all. But gee whiz....on the ride they are attempting to blow up the fort, burn down the village, rob the town folk, sel...

Re: Fantastic news! A thank-you letter from Johnny Depp!

I'm absolutely stunned!! I don't know why I'm stunned....he said he was going to do it. But he really did it!!! I'm blown away!!! I think it's because I never dreamed that my measley donation (in light of all that is needed to help Japan) would ever inspire Johnny. This feels totally backwards. He i...

Thanks suec, for sharing!! Wow!! A one-on-one conversation with Daniel Depp! That's wonderful! I love how honest he is. He mentions going through a period of depression and being cranky about his book being made into a movie. I like honest answers. Those Depp men are fine folks!

Re: Fantastic news! Johnny Depp says "Thank you" to the Zone!

I, too, am amazed and humbled by his continuous kindness and compassion...to take time out of his personal time to thank us. What a generous gesture! I love this line: "I shall continue to aspire in my efforts and contributions to, at the very least, attempt to keep up with your level of though...

Its wonderful to see that the hospital was so overwhelmed with our gift that they saw fit to post it on their website. I'm glad that our gift made such an impact and that the funds we donated will continue to make an impact on those who need it, just like Johnny has made such a huge impact on us.
