Re: Alice Tidbit #3 ~ Sir John Tenniel and Other Illustrators

Liz, The illustrations are wonderful! My childhood AIW book was my mothers 1945 edition and she gave the treasure to me to keep nearly 30 years ago! I'm afraid to open the book very far as it is over 60 years old now! But I did crack it open today to take a little sideways peek at some of the some o...

I remember reading a review of Heat, in which the reviewer stated he felt the "wrong man died". Personally, I think it was a bit harsh on the Pacino character! But it is testament to how sympathetic De Niro's character seemed, even after seeing everything he was capable of. Mann and De Ni...

Its very nice indeed to hear from someone outside our little book club to notice how great it is to be a noodlemantra. Its well known here and we are aware of how lucky we are for our two dedicated gals who work so hard to keep it great. You set the standards and because we enjoy it so much we try ...

I found the book at my local library...364.973Burrough. Normally, I read fiction (mostly mystery) and tend to just flip through non-fiction, only picking up on what I want to read. I agree, his writing style does tend to vary in between fiction and non-fiction. Makes for better reading though! :clou...

Great answers everyone! Can't really think of anything to add...I would be redundant at this point in the thread. I am on page 375 in the book and all I can visualize is JD as JD! :-O Plus, I need some :morning:

An alias you say? Just call me Billie The Girl...

We Zoners are a generous lot! I think we have a taker at this point. Naenae, that is a good point about the libraries. I know in the past other Zoners have been able to use an inter-library loan as well if their local library didn't have the book. Awww, how sweet DITHOT! What a generous Zoner! I wa...

Thank you DITHOT for the history! I too, relate to what some of you have said about our current economy. I work in the construction industry and that is the scariest place to try to live in and survive in right now! I promise I will NOT turn into a gangster girl because of it!
