Re: TPOF Question #10 ~ Girl Talk

I found it hard to identify with that, their apparent willingness to share him between themselves and whoever else might come along. Pirate way of life, I guess? It was a useful story device to show how Ayisha was able to establish a relationship with Jack, using the inside knowledge she received f...

Re: TPOF Question #9 - The Rescue

I thought it was clever and daring, he knew enough about the society to make it work. It fit with the style of Jack as we know him from Curse of the Black Pearl.

Re: TPOF Question #2 - Keeping the Code

I don't think there were good and bad pirates, all pirates operated outside the law, some were just more bloodthirsty than others. The code existed to govern interaction between the pirates themselves and possibly to keep from crossing the line that would bring more law enforcement down on them. Th...

Re: TPOF Question #3 - Cutler Beckett

I enoyed knowing more about his background and what motivated him. Also, because the movies implied some secret in the past was the cause of the animosity between Jack and Beckett, I was curious. I think Ann did a great job in filling in those blanks. While I felt sympathy for the boy Cutler, I was...

Re: TPOF Question #2 - Keeping the Code

The sailors of the times must have known the meanings of the various flags either from previous personal experience or their fellow sailors. I imagine it was a nasty shock when the rogue pirates first appeared on the scene. The pirates seemed to know of the code set down by Morgan and Bartholomew, ...

Re: TPOF Question #1 ~ The Prologue

It did pique my interest. I enjoy reading about ancient egypt, while this was not about ancient times, I wasn't sure at first what time it was set in with the mention of Pharaohs and gods. It made me wonder what it could have to do with Jack Sparrow, of course the mention of treasure opened up poss...

Re: Babylon Nights Question #9 ~ Special

I agree with the thoughts expressed about Special. He was a very interesting character, I felt he knew who he was and certainly understood that there are no excuses in the world he lived in. Whining or trying to get out of returning the money, would have just gotten him killed. He was street smart ...

Re: Babylon Nights Question #2 ~ The Internet

As someone who finds the internet both fascinating and frustrating, I must agree you can find almost anything on the internet given time and some skill. You must also be careful as there is a lot of misinformation on the internet as well. I use it as a major shopping tool as well.

I agree that it is when taken to the extreme that it can be a problem. Most of the legitimate stars seem to avoid the paparazzi as much as possible.

Re: Babylon Nights Question #1 ~ The Actor's Responsibility

Although what Mr. Spandau is talking about is actor's who extend that fantasy into real life and lead us to believe that the fantasy can be reality. Linda Lee , can you elaborate on this? I'm not sure I understand. :dunce: But I feel that it might be key to this discussion. "It doesn't end...
