Let us know how it is.

Will do! I hope the narrator doesn't spoil the story. :hope:

Re: Film-link re-release of The Rum Diary book

I went to the library today to try to find a copy of The Rum Diary to reread. I haven't read it in about 3 years. Much to my surprise, I found an unabridged version in the Books On CD section. So I checked it out, and will listen on the way to and from work. The reader is called Christopher Lane. Wi...

Re: Annotated Alice in Lost

I just found another great reference for Lost and AIW parallels. This link is from the Ravelry Lost group:

Re: Annotated Alice in Lost

There are a LOT of AIW references throughout LOST, not just this season. You can read about them on the Lostpedia. I'm not sure if this type of link is allowed. If not, please delete this link. It is to the Lostpedia, and the AIW references. There is also an ad for Tim and Johnny's AIW on the page. ...

Re: Michio Kaku on CTCAM Tonight, April 22

Thanks for the heads up, Jennak. Do they the post interviews on their website so they can be listened to at another time? They post a synopsis the next day. But you can only listen to the show later on-line or via podcast if you are a subscriber. Since I live in the East and now have a daytime job,...

Amazon says this book is not available. I guess the H/C is remaindered, and the paperback has not been released yet. :banghead:

Re: Loser's Town Question #7 ~ Terry McGuinn

I think Daniel got it right with Terry. I have been around a lot of Irishmen, although they were mostly in Canada...not the USA. What I like is that Daniel made Terry a real person, without overplaying the Irish card. Terry knows the effect being Irish has on those he meets, but doesn't ham it up to...

Re: Michio Kaku on CTCAM Tonight, April 22

Thank you very much for posting this, Jennak . It is definitely the place to do it. I hate to admit my ignorance, but what is CTCAM? I'm happy to explain, Liz. :bounce: It is the most listened to nighttime radio talk show on the air, and a favorite of us night owls. CTCAM stands for Coast To Coast ...

Michio Kaku on CTCAM Tonight, April 22

I didn't know where else to mention this. Liz. I just saw that Michio Kaku is the main guest on CTCAM on the radio tonight, starting at 11 pm Pacific Time. I thought that in view of the heavy going while reading Parallel Worlds, listening to him on the radio (and being able to call in questions in t...

Re: Loser's Town Question #8 ~ The Women of Loser's Town

I would agree with most of the comments so far. I like Dee, but I can understand her unwillingness to stay in a relationship with an emotionally unavailable man. I have been in that situation too, and even though I still love him, I could never live with him again. Allison was headed down a bad road...

Re: Loser's Town Tidbit #17 ~ A History of the Detective Novel

I have read 4 detective novels in the last 20 years by the following authors: James Patterson Tony Hillerman Diane Mott Davidson Daniel Depp But it's not that I dislike the genre. I tend to only read book club books (for ONBC and my local book club). And it seems that it's just not ...

Thanks, Liz! This was great. :bouquet:

I think my first choice would be Musso's. I love the history of the place, and would want to try and bask in the atmosphere of times past. However, if the prices are prohibitve, I might also just go in the dining room and order drinks all night.

I had white patent go-go boots, raincoat, and carnaby-style hat, but no fringed dress. I can still picture Judy Carne in her fringed dress, on Laugh-In. I am getting REALLY old. Sigh. :bawl:
