Re: Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny

Recent reports seem so acrimonious. It is just sad.

Thanks for the opportunity to donate in the name of Johnny's fans and Johnny himself. What a great plan for the birthday project, and such a worthy cause.

Ok - I am a bit of a dilettante here. I don't make it around the Zone much anymore, sorry to say! But I think Johnny may have been interested because the book does lend some credence to GW Bush's decision to invade Iraq. It does supply a little credence to the nuclear threat, while at the same time ...

Wow, that's a great question.

I think for most of us the encroachment of those big chains signals a de-personalization of life. And Gilbert is already shrinking. Much more de-personalization and he would disappear.

Momma is really oppressive in many ways. As the passages quoted above indicate, she doesn't really want to hear the truth or hear how her children feel about her or their situation. Not only did she not help her kids with their grief over their father's death, she stood as a barrier to any outlet th...

Who do you think the fish was -- Tucker or Becky?

There was something a little unreal about her in the book - like she was some sort of spirit-guide.

I agree, GG - her youth in the book almost makes one queasy. At least she isn't jail bait in the movie!

Oh, I had such a crush on Paladin - I must have been about 5! I thought Adam (Pernell Roberts) was pretty hot too.

Somehow I found Mutz more pivotal - perhaps that's only because he was the most sympathetic figure to me.

Are we skirting around the issue of the importance of sexual love to Anna? That did seem to be a matter of some importance to her, didn't it? I think part of the reason she may have pursued Balashov has to do with that. I would also think that being deserted by a husband at that time would be a pre...

Ah, the love of a greater cause. Well, from what I have read that was a big fantasy in most cases. Love of power, yes. Love of the workers and the people, no. And you have to wonder what type of hypocrisy is involved when so many were willing to sacrifice others, but not themselves, in pursuit of th...

I agree that he continued to love God, but I think there's something about surgically altering yourself in that way to make yourself more "perfect" that does smack of a fundamental loss of faith. I agree that it shows a fundamental loss of faith, while he says he is showing his love of Go...
