Gilbert's Girl wrote:Late twenties, early thirties I think. I don't think it says exactly but there is a sort of mention.

One ignorant question from me: How old is Karla in the book?

I think I like Maureen the best out of the characters. I liked her as a person the most. Even if the other characters were not as likeably becasue we really got inside their heads they becamse more likable and you cared about them I think.

GG, I thought that all of the characters where a bit stereotypical, but I did like the book, despite finding it a bit shallow in some way.
I am not sure who could play her.

But I think it was there way with connecting with the rest of the world.

Yes, I think Nick is also making a point. Some people like the large open shops some don't.There are so few smaller book shops left they have all gone under over here. Personally I hate Borders I prefer the slightly smaller Waterstones and HMV to Virgin Megastores, but that is just preference ...

Re: ALWD Question #9 - Starbucks?

Pg. 188. Jess: You need confidence to go into small places with regular customers—small bookshops and small music shops and small restaurants and cafes. I’m happiest in the Virgin Megastore and Borders and Starbucks and PizzaExpress, where no one gives a :censored: ….My mum and dad are always going...
