ptp said For example, $6,000 will supply a birthday party for 240 different children who have to spend their birthdays in the hospital. That's twenty different birthday parties a month, every month for a year! That's a whole lot of cheer spread around a whole lot of little faces . . . day after day...

I was just thinking how surreal this night must have been for him KY. I wonder if his mind was elsewhere? I was just thinking the same thing, DITHOT and KY. "Surreal" is a good word for this. I hope Johnny had a chance to speak with Anita or Juan today. bluebird I'd be willing to bet that...

Thanks, DITHOT. I was having a senior moment. (Not a Chivas moment!)

I have to say I miss having a 'voice' like Hunter's around in these trying times. He spoke what he felt to be the truth and didn't waiver. I read an article today, by Steadman, that Hunter's suicide was no surprise to him, as Hunter was so despondent over Bush winning the presidency. Wow. Can we ju...

Hello Noodlemantras - I was here for that fateful night a year ago. I shared a toast (or two) with my fellow zoners, and had a great time. Hunter must surely be smiling down on The Colonel tonight. The look of total adoration... http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b310/CarrieKY/Johnny/Hunter/Breakfast...

This doesn't quite answer the question, but it's close. Characters I was most like 25 years ago -- The Earl and Raoul Duke. I was a complete rebel, always testing authority, blatantly making art and music everywhere I went, wearing shocking clothing, saying shocking things, trying out strange hair-...

Great questions, Liz.

Like others have said, I feel most like Gilbert. I've been a care-taker most of my life, willingly and unwillingly.

I would love to be like....Sands! I know...LOL. But, to be completely self-absorbed, mean, funny and cute. Hey, could be worse.

They should just about be waking up in an hour or two. Hope they all put in their thoughts as well... :sailboat: Nada, nothing....just remembering fondly...

Ladies, I may have been rip-snortin whoopsied by the time the great bottle rocket debachle occured on Monument Ave (could almost sound like an Arlo Guthrie song), but trust me it went nowhere near "man of my dreams" with the officer, now Sargeant. Way too young for me, cutie pie yes, but I haven't ...

Deedee, I'm so glad to hear that you still see your policeman! What a legacy...to meet the man of your dreams while howling at the moon to celebrate Hunter! Alas, I don't have any Chivas tonight (thank goodness!) but I'll raise my glass of Diet Coke to all my buds here at the Zone. :noodlemantra: An...

Hello all, Thanks to Liz and DITHOT for having this little shindig for Hunter. I miss him. I miss what he represented. I miss being considered viable in our world. How did I get to be 55 years old? Hunter represented my youth - the ever changing world of the 60's. A time when our whole world was cha...
